HEART TreatMeWell Live1977

When Nance and I sat down and played guitars together the first couple times, I figured I was a much better player. Then she played this, my first glimpse of her songwriting. "I've never written anything nearly that good!" She has always been a big inspiration, to this day... in every song I write. We had a good time together while it lasted. We all have to learn our lessons.

Nancy's voice was always so underrated. Doesn't have the power of Ann's voice but is very pleasant to the ears.

Casual fans, this is Nancy’s “first” song, as written by her, singing lead in Heart. I feel like we’re getting a real slice of introspective young Nancy’s soul here, as with the next album’s Nada One (my fave Nancy song). I’d forgotten about Ann’s one harmony part with the live version. For some reason the blues harp surprised me to SEE, even though I knew it was her playing it all these years. WOW. Thank you, Fisher Bros. Can’t even tell you how much these uploads mean to me. ❤️

I was 14 y.o. when this album came out...was already in love with Heart (D.A.). This song was such a beautiful surprise...and I LOVE Ann's harmonies in the live version...kinda wish she did it on the album version... it just adds that much more emotional resonance to the song... but the album version is gorgeous... then. when I heard Nada One I realized Nancy was such a powerful emotional presence in the band. The way Nada One melds into Mistral Wind...that sense of emptiness and longing.... Genius. And they (the entire band) were only in their 20s!!!!! ❤️

Yes, but just to specify that it is the first song written solely by her. Let's remember that she is a co-writer on most of the band's songs, since Dreamboat Annie. And according to Roger Fisher, she showed it to him the second time they sat down to play guitar, so we can assume she wrote it before joining Heart.

Nancy doing her own thing, inside Heart. I love it, like I love her solo album "You and Me." I love Heart, but I must confess that I also love Nancy Wilson as an independent artist. I enjoy even her compositions for films. There is something about her music that reveals a beautiful, dreamy soul.

Each of this lineup's live performances is when one truly understands how extremely talented this lineup were and was lightning in a bottle together. Perfection. And even the name "Heart" in my opinion is the best name for a music group, too.

I will echo what has been said by many in the Comment sections in all these uploads, that it has been emotionally overwhelming experience to see/hear the band coming to the musical/artistic peak with such love, hope, and friendship. It was a "gift" to see a live version of this sweet song. Nada One, is not only my favorite Nancy Wilson--it is my favorite song period! A song that is woven inextricably into the magical second side of Dog and Butterfly. I listen to everything from Sinatra to Slayer, but Nada One is a song that seems to be written from a place for a place that exists outside this realm. The kindness and wisdom that is omnipresent in presenting/sharing these lost gems does not go unnoticed. Thank you Roger and Mike for sharing your love, kindness, and gratitude in these beautiful, historical gems of musical genius.

Triumphant as a top female rock guitarist, Nancy Wilson of HEART creates a soothing acoustic blend. And you'll notice she rarely parts with her Adamas guitar." It's dated from 1978. Hmm...I think that would be Howard because the lead line being played is a bit more intricate and requires more than just strumming. Then sounds like Roger coming in with a brief lead line....then if that WAS Howard he goes right back to manning the keys/synth. Did you see him doing double time on...oh now I forget which song it was that Roger just uploaded the other day, but Howard was on guitar for a bit then flipped it behind his back while switching to synthesizer/keyboard...then right back to guitar😄 I'm guessing it was Magic Man but I'd have to check.
