Ann Willson! I mean come on!?! Internet LOVES to proclaim various ARTists are the goats. Arts special in that we all perceive a good piece differently so CAN'T be a "best". But her vocals seem so light on effort but clear, beautiful, POWERFUL and just perfect IMO. LOVE YOU ANN. Infact named my daughter Anna with you in mind. You're one special human and so is my almost 11yo daughter.

First thing I did after graduating hs in the fall of 89 was pack the escort and move to Washington state because I'd always thought that was the place for me without never having been west of NY state prior to that. Lived in Woodinville and LOVED IT. Coming from rural Vermont I felt at home but also had Seattle right there. It was perfection except that I didn't have any family there. So about a year later I moved home, my grandfather, the most amazing man ever, was not well and it was more important to me to share as much time with him and the rest of my tribe as possible while I could. Never made it back out there which as a huge Soundgarden, PJ and HEART fan I kick myself for not seeing into the future and what was coming from the first 2 bands in the next few years. A fun tidbit, Chris Cornel wrote Black Hole Sun as he drove from Woodinville to Seattle one evening. Anyway I wouldn't trade the time with family and my wife and daughter for anything BUT, being able to attend this concert in 2015 would have come close. Ann is a gift. What a voice, what a woman. I was 7yo when Dog and Butterfly came out. One of those special tunes we all have that, for some inexplicable reason, put us in a specific time and place vividly even if we were at an age we unfortunately are able to retain many/Any memories from. Seven yo in the back of my parents puke/olivish green Maverick on the way to camp, but my mind was in the sky floating up behind a giant Monarch. The world needs music like that for our kids. Oh to be able to flick the switch and regain that magic childhood imagination, magic, dreams. Thank you Ann and your pup at the time that helped inspire that. As for this specific performance, I mean what can you say, they're ALWAYS amazing and ROCKING!

Thank you Ann Wilson. You and Nancy are definitely the REAL thing. You both actually play your instruments and REALLY sing! Something that's lacking in today's music. I feel blessed to have seen you perform "live" in the late seventies and also to see you still performing so beautifully today. I am in awe of how great you still sound today. Bless you and Nancy and I hope you both continue to do what you love to do and we get to enjoy it for many more years. :-)

Piling makeup on and doing high kicks at the age of 60 while sis tries to hide the blubber at 65 is a bit sad. Ann's voice was starting to fade at about this point in 2015, and you can tell in the choruses here she is really struggling. The following year in 2016 she had almost lost her entire upper range and the songs like this one and Alone were almost unlistenable (they had to overdub her vocals on the 2016 DVD from London on Alone). I've always loved her voice, but the age is starting to show which is sad considering she's just started doing everything solo after she alienated the rest of Heart. Sad deal for her to go out that way.
