The power of Ann, and her tenacious lil' sister Nancy, cannot be denied. The fact that many amazing songs propelled them into Rock Stratosphere seems to have been forgotten. Ask a producer, ask a banker, ask a media broker .... what makes money in popular music.....what does it start with? THE SONG. The rest is media manipulation. The look, the style, the stories, .... nothing happens without THE SONG. Thanx Ann & Nancy for writing incredible life-based poetry put to music that only the rock-gods could have created.

At the ripe age of I was lucky enough to have the Wilsons father as an English literature teacher at Ringdale Jr High in 1975. Nancy and sometimes I think Ann, used to give acapella performances with her guitar in a class room to entertain the students. People would join in vocally or with a harmonica or banjo at times-the results were were incredible, she was the most gentle, beautiful, talented human being I had ever seen. I thought how could such an off the charts talent not be famous-I didn't have to wait long, I heard Magic Man on the radio a year or so later and knew they were on their way!

Ann Wilson is one of the most beautiful people in the world. I've had a crush on both sisters since the 70s as a teen. Beauty is not defined by a specific body type. How can you listen to that voice and not feel the inherent beauty of the human being. Nancy is the bad ass rocker who broke barriers. Her beauty also comes from within. Love you Wilson sisters. Thanks to all the fine band members through the years. Your music is still in my active playlists.

@Mark Anthony Weight doesn't define her. Listen to her voice, to the words of the music she's written. You're what's wrong with the industry. Music isn't about what you look like. Hollywood makes it that way. Ann is beautiful..inside and out. So is Nancy. The world, (or should I say mostly men in this case) is obsessed with sex, being thin and how much skin you can show. If that's what's selling albums, then your not listening to the instruments, the lyrics or the voices. Sad man.

Or medications for something completely different can cause a person to gain weight. Exactly. What Hollywood and Multi Media in general did to the entire 80s generation and beyond is scandalous. At the least in the 70s one could still be cherished amd respected for talent alone. Id say it makes me wonder how much emphasise on outward appearance was placed on males. Then I remembered Micheal Jackson. What an evil tragedy to be used as a puppet for the monetary pleasures of those ruling over the needy whether it be God Man Woman Child Animal Earth Creation.

Hollywood was all about being skinny, looks, sex and all of that made money for them. And Ann & Nancy were right, when they started putting all the make-up and wardrobe changes on them, it took the focus away from their talent... writing music, making music and singing.🎶🎼🎹🪕🎸🎶

@@robertthemage I agree with you about the Journey shows, and will add that Heart blew Def Leppard off the stage on that tour as well. I know Lep fans who went to that wondering why Heart was opening for a "metal" group (I've never thought of Lep as metal, but they call themselves that so...), and leaving feeling like Heart was by far the harder rocking band. Recent Heart setlists have been snoozers, but they put together the perfect setlist for that tour mainly because they ditched a lot of the ballads and wanted to focus on the hard music; it worked because while Lep was playing "Love Bites" and "Hysteria" pop crap Heart was pulling up their sleeves and pulling their harder hits and album cuts and dominating the show. It didn't hurt to have Ann's still formidable vocals which Lep had no answer for (sorry joe).

Howard Leese was the band member kept through all the years. I briefly spoke to him after a concert asking him where they were going to next, Was to be the Letterman show appearance the next night on the 1993 tour. I had walked off thinking how down to earth and approachable he seemed and that no wonder he remained stable through all the changes over the years on the band I thought.

Great bio! Love these women... Dreamboat Annie was the first album I ever bought, way back in '76. Nancy is such an amazing guitarist and composer, and Ann... Beautiful Ann... you were always my favourite!

I just saw them last month in concert. It was GREAT! Yes, Ann is still chunky, but she has that wonderful voice that has NEVER changed. I have never gone to see them in concert for their looks. Joan Jett was there in the concert too. Know what? ALL of them have gotten older. So have I. I've gained weight too. So what? The music is the thing, and as long as Ann and Nancy are together, it IS HEART!

Back in the day I saw them live several times and ALWAYS LOVED THEM! They are the sirens of the 1970's and early 1980's! They lured my heart to there location and captivated me with their song! Over, and over, and over again, and still do! I'd love to sit with them and play a guitar and just jam! I can't play anymore, so it wouldn't be that good, but you'd have them!

Christ I felt bad for Ann, such a gift and it was being controlled by such evil forces in the record industry. I listened to Heart all my life and never once cared what they looked like. Record Companies never care about the artist, just the bucks. Thank you Heart for everything, our lives are far far better with you :)

Your comment is right on Perry Andrew. I'm really glad you spoke up. Heart has been my favorite group ever since I can remember. The Wilson sisters are a force. They haven't been around this long for nothing. They have talent, style, class and above all "Heart".
