You should tag the different exhausts at the end with readings.

Love this sound comparison with the C8’s. I own a C6Z with RPM’s Stage 4 Package, no cats and an Akropovic Titanium exhaust. I tried this test. At idle my car was at 120 decibels. 😅. I’ll need to try again and see what decibel number it reaches on start-up as well as revs like these guys did. Cheers!

This is so incredibly useful when you have no idea what sound you're gonna get until you hear these side by side. GREAT VIDEO!! I'm really glad I waited 3 more years for the Z06 because I prefer an F1 Formula sound which is what my Z06 sounds like. It even sounds better than the Ferrari 458 which is what the Z06 is based off of. My Z06 SCREEEEEAMS going down the road. Its like a symphony to my ears.

The stock Z51 NPP sounds finely tuned and more exotic than the aftermarket. I agree fantastic as is.

I have a 2022 Z51 and I love the exhaust sound. It is perfect I agree! Can't justify the $$ to switch it. For now.... :o)

My Camaro SS1LE sounded great stock. Didn’t touch it. Now my C8 Z06 is the same story. I haven’t heard an exhaust that sounds clearly better. Louder, yes. But not better.

I feel like the corsa was the most obnoxious, it had full exhaust from header back. But I think the cat back borla sounded the best imo. Just enough and not too much.

This should be unpopular. I still like the stock exhaust sound the best, to me it has a more exotic tone especially sitting in the car. Do I wish it was louder in the car sometimes? yeah maybe. Not trying to trash any of the others, it is awesome that there are so many choices but to me they are all just loud and don't really match the vibe of the car (more muscle, less exotic). Anyway, just my view, thanks for doing these comparisons.

All of these sound great, I have a C8 HTC and looking to get headers, cats, and exhaust installed. I am also in the DFW area. Is there a shop that does good work on Vette’s in the area you would recommend?

Hey Korey. So technically a certified C8 technician found at a reputable Chevy dealership will be able to handle that kind of install easily so id start there. I did have my Borla installed by a chevy service technician but that was back when i lived in Florida and started doing most of my own work afterwards. If your looking for somewhere outside of dealerships, id recommend Corvette World of Dallas as a place as well to check out. Hope that helps 👍

The one with the headers and cat deletes sounded terrible imo. The stock, 2nd and 4th sounded best.

Have you thrown a CEL anytime after install with your Borla catback setup?

So mine was one of the first C8s to get the Borla ATAK when it first came out and has about 18,000 miles on the exhaist since install. Its thrown a CEL 3 separate times. Two times was near initial install. Technician and Borla did a troubleshoot and it was because the NPP valves, made by Borla, needed to be broken in and werent moving "fast enough" for the Computers taste and threw the CEL. It was a quick reset and i was fine so no issue functionally wise. The 3rd time was at the 12k miles mark which actually went away by itself by the next drive actually but confirmed it was the valves again which resolved itself. I had the valves recalculated when it was initially installed. Hope that helps 👍

I agree. Just enough and not too obnoxious.

Next time keep the same distance and height with the decibel meter from the what your trying to measure. Distance makes a huge difference when measuring decibels.

@@daphnen5296 i can only speak with respect to the borla drone as ive never sat in a C8 and cruised around with a corsa installed to determine the drone level. That being said Borla has absolutely no drone if your cruising casually in top gear on the highway and the revs are low. Pretty comparable to stock in my honest opinion. Its not until you hit the throttle that it comes alive and your playing into the medium to high revs. Hope that helps

Hey Cameron. That was the AWE track I believe.

The small differences in sound don't really justify the big cost difference.

In ordered to be trespassed, they have to ask you to leave first (or have the cops ask you to leave first on behalf of the property owners). Then if you do not leave, it's considered trespassing. So I really hope you weren't trespassed for no reason

No one ever came up to me a single time beforehand. The cops had come first. Had someone come up and asked me to leave, i would have happily left with no issue.

For the stock yes that is the z51 exhaust with the NPP valves.
