While the C8 does monitor the valve position electronically; MBRP built travel stops into the bracket/hub assemblies, so the NPP actuators see the exact same position and range of travel as the OEM setup. I was especially careful (which is in the video) to reinstall the actuators in the fully open position. This is also where the car last saw the position of the valves. In the event a relearn was needed, I can pay the dealer to perform the procedure relatively easily. So far it has been 6 days of daily driving and no issues.
I'm actually happy to see the wifey more on the channel.
Donslife needs to become a sitcom. With Mrs. Donslife it is kinda like Home Improvement.
Keeping my fingers crossed that this will eventually come for my '24 6.2L denali
pretty cool! Boss lady needs a new exhaust system.
Sounds fantastic! Where would you be without Mrs Donslife! You guys are so great together.

Thanks buddy! I lucked out!
Mrs. Don's Life is tiny, but powerful, that's the message for the day! Great mod, sounds pretty good, wish we could have heard it from inside the vette while you driving it! My C7 Z06 seems just as loud stock though, but I'm sure it's different in person! Happy motoring!
Beautiful wife, beautiful house and a gorgeous C8, what a life you got going on there Don😂🎉

It’s what the car needed. And those tips 🥵
Great vid, Don! Great to see Mrs. Don's life helping, as well. Well done with instructions and a how-to. Now, if I only had a C8. :D
Got MBRPs on my 18 Camero ss, Funny you say being that guy, my townhome community would agree also. That’s why I took the older crowd that could have caused me trouble, hoa stuff, for fast and loud rides, starting with underpass exhaust blast into a rip up the merge ramp onto the interstate . Problem solved. Sweet vette you have there!

Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Great video Don. Much improved looks and sound for sure. Any drone with the valves open?

Being an aggressive exhaust, it has the best kind of build up to each shift. One might call that drone, I call it ‘climbing the power-band.’ When in Touring, no annoying drone.
Great video, Don! Sounds awesome! I saw AEV just released the skid plates that are on the bison trucks. Have you considered getting those for some better protection on your AT4?

Interesting. Nice to see they fit all of the model years 2019+. I will have to keep this in mind
You need a Quickjack!

I absolutely do!
You didn't mention anything about the exhaust valve relearn. It's my understanding that any new exhaust system on the C8 requires a relearn or the car will eventually throw a check engine light. The dealer usually has to do the relearn although I believe some scan tools will allow you to do a relearn yourself.

That's because according to the MBRP design team, we should be okay. @@Donslife Just to be safe you may want to check with an ODB II scanner to see if any exhaust codes have been set. I've seen where the scanner shows codes before the check engine light comes on. The prevailing consensus is that anytime you unplug the NPP valves a relearning needs to be done regardless of the position the valves were in when unplugged.

I have a compatible scan tool. I will check too. 👍

great video just wondering if you had it out on the expressway yet is there any droning noise ? on my 5th gen Camaro it was bad around 110-120 km . and was there any #'s on gains ?
@Donslife

Good news is no drone. Had it on every conceivable rpm range, gear, valves open and closed. As for numbers, I believe it is negligible in gains. Effort was put into the sound first 👍
It sounds great... better than stock imo.... I recently purchased a 24 Denali 1500 6.2 with the active exhaust. It seems to me it fully opens the valves when I shut the vehicle off and remains open after start up for a few seconds (when not in Sport mode) is this the same as your C8?
@Donslife

The way I understand it the C8 is programmed to allow for an open valve at the initial start up and then almost immediately observes the settings from when the vehicle was last shut off. Examples: If I shut off in myMode (valves open) and restart, the valves stay open the entire time unless I select a new drive mode. If I shut off in Touring (valves closed) or Sport (valves open), the valves will be open for a second or two during start and then the car will automatically go to Touring mode and close the valves. The only way to have a true cold start with these 3 settings is to shut the car off in MyMode with the valves open in my configuration for this setting.

@@Donslife Thanks for the reply...i think my truck behaves the same...starts loud and quiets down within 10 seconds ... like you said...depending on the mode it was shut off in....love your stuff....keep it up!
Which is better? This or 2m?
@Donslife

Being that this one retains NPP valve functionality, I vote MBRP. I haven’t heard a 2M in person to comment on sound alone
Thank you for the video, excellent indoctrination!!!
