Triggers are one of the hardest things to deal with and be present while your spouse is upset and distant. But I’ve had to learn to understand what she’s going through and be patient with her.

So true… yes. Having patience with yourself and with your spouse. Being present with them and their feelings is healing. Shame has a way of taking us out of being present with our spouse. I encourage you to release shame if it comes up.

It is!! It absolutely is! Give yourself grace. It’s not a race. Minutes, hours and day can be tough. Some days take it minute by minute. Continue to take those thoughts captive and see if they are truth. Continue to figure out ways to love yourself through this season. It’s a skill that you will continue to practice and become better at taking thoughts captive. We are praying for you and for your heart.

I’m not sure how to ask questions publicly here in my circumstances that I don’t want to be public on social media.
