I admire the humble manner of Mark Groves. He appears to inquire genuinely for truth & enlightenment rather than engage in probity to find a fault, falsity, or confusion in the statements of the interviewee. He seems to take the seat of a learner seeking clarity rather than take a presumptuous intellectual's seat competing as I know-it-better. Mark by being such is able to ask most sensible and intelligent questions, thus, significant information & insights were drawn out and well delivered to us audience. Of course, Dr. Mate is known for his humility. It's delightful to watch and listen to both gentleman.

Since childhood I struggled with health issues and mostly was told it was my own weaknesses. Asthma, allergies, pneumonia, Crohn's, eczema... Eventually I began to ask myself questions and sought help through counselling and therapy. One cheeky and much older therapist, after one session with me, said to move to another city to be with my then partner, get married and be happy. I remember that day clearly. All my hope for a shift in direction just dissolved in that moment, and I relinquished what power I'd tasted. The result for me was becoming a blackout drunk (after following his advise) which interestingly saved my life. It forced me to reach out for help again. Like Gabor says, it isn't recommended to acquire disease or intense suffering, but it can be a great vehicle for transformation. Just don't die first. ;)

Mark, thank you for putting in the work to have such a phenomenal guest on, and to prepare questions that go beyond the typical book tour stuff we've already heard. The thought provoking nature and the willingness to not just read from script, but engage in real time makes a how difference and gives us something unique we can benefit from. I learn so much more from interviews like yours. Appreciate your work

Thank you both for doing and sharing this episode. Keep up the hard good work! @Mark Groves I logged in jusy to say thank you to you. Since this book came out and I learnt about Gabor, I watched many videos where he shares his knowledge and insights with some host, and so far yours is definitely my favorite, because it says a lot about the work you have done on yourself and your intentions too. I truly appreciate you here, hope to find the time to learn more what you. And, of course!, wishing you all the best for your fatherhood!!

The toxic culture of which he speaks never stopped my healing process. He seems to be fixated on "our toxic culture"...name a culture thats not toxic.
