Healing Epstein Barr Virus | Mystery Illness Symptoms + Lab Results + How I Healed | Chronic Fatigue

If you watched my first vlog, I mentioned how haven't worked out in more than four months and I promised to share more on why. This is that video.
I can't tell you the google/youtube/podcast rabbit trail I went down trying to figure out what was going on with me.
I hope this can be found by those who need it.
This video details the full journey from March 2021 when I started feeling symptoms, to June 2021 when I finally figured out it was EBV, and through the healing journey which brings us to today.
It was not pretty.
I struggled with depression, major fatigue that would keep me in bed and prevented me from living my active lifestyle, and put major stress on my physical + emotional body. I struggled with worry and anxiety as new symptoms came up (like ringing in the ears which drove me crazy) and it put a strain on my relationship too (when I was in the mystery illness stage).
Thank you for watching and I hope this helps someone going through being sick and trying to heal.
If you know anyone going through this, please share this video in case they find any insights valuable.
When I was first going through this, I spent a lot of time on youtube and I didn't find many EBV videos with people sharing their journey yet the Epstein-Barr Virus Support Group on facebook has more than 11,000 members. Definitely not alone in this.

Thank you so much. I have had EBV for 14 months.. I've been in bed all this time. I noticed my energy has improved a tiny bit. I cut out all dairy 10 months ago and am eating fruit, veg and bread. I'm going to start drinking celery juice. Honestly unless someone has experienced this they really can't imagine what it's like. I'm going to start to do naturotherapy/hydrotherapy. Looking at the positive - it has really taught me to look after myself and this has really been a time of God just telling me to love myself and let myself rest. Striving will just make it worse. I'm grateful you shared your experience. Thank you x

Hi Laurie! From what I've searched online, 9 out of 10 people have been exposed to EBV in their lifetime, either from Mono or just in daily contact with people. And once you have the virus it stays dormant. If you have an active infection then I would probably refrain but if you feel like you've moved past the worst symptoms, I don't see why not. @@laurieengel8101

These are very important documents of humanity. Something you can’t get from a doctor very often. These mystery illnesses plague you in weird ways. For many, they’re not sick enough to be deemed disabled, but just sick enough to find work difficult and life not so enjoyable. I took a lot of drugs to fight this myself and it worked out well. I was able to have 8 really good years on drugs and then I went downhill with the hard stuff. I’d say it was worth it. But I knew sometime in between those years that I could do without the drugs. They were just an inspiration of how I could feel. If you decide to use drugs, stick to weed, shrooms, maybe LSD and MDMA (not addictive and about 50 times less toxic than alcohol). Painkillers are pretty good, but if you start using both day time and night time, you build your tolerance quick, and lucky you if you don’t find yourself smoking fentanyl a year later. For amphetamine, you really have to stick to oral dosing. Meth and adderall are basically the same. Obviously adderall seems left fiendish and will be easier to self regulate. But if docs won’t give you adderall, then you could order modafinil online.

Hi Bianca, thanks for sharing all of this. So, I contracted CMV (Cytomegalovirus - a betaherpesvirus) from my ex-partner and I had suffered from mono like symptoms (for 3-4 days only) but since then I'm asymptomatic (it has been more than 1.5 yrs). I'm constantly worried and full of anxiety that what if CMV will cause greater issues once I get old (maybe in my 50s, 60s or beyond), and is it fatal? I have read so many research publications online about CMV, it also causes latent persistent infection but I had my blood test done very recently and my report came out absolutely normal. I had normal ranges of neutrophils (slightly at higher end of the normal range), normal lymphocytes, a little less absolute monocyte count, normal total leucocyte count, and normal CRP. Do you have any idea if this virus is a threat to my well-being and will I have serious health issues later on in life? and any steps that I can take to keep this virus in remission? p.s: As per my recent test for CMV, my CMV IgG is 90 AU/mL (which is positive) and CMV IgM is negative. I'm in my late 20s. p.p.s: I had a breakup 8 months back due to which I went into a lot of stress and anxiety which rose my CMV IgG levels to 127 AU/mL back in May 2023. I also wanted to sue my ex for lying to me that he was a virgin. So, after our first physical meeting (that's when I contracted CMV), i got to know (I made him reveal it all) that he had done oral sex. He also told me that he didn't know that he has CMV. After getting to know all of this I was truly devastated and have had visited to several docs, all of them telling me that CMV is not harmful to immunocompetent people (like EBV, i guess). My family advised me to not go for the court case as it will not only be waste of time and money but it will hugely impact my mental health. I'm huge huge overthinker and sometimes I get bad anxieties thinking about what will happen when i'm 60 years above of age. As you also know immunity weakens in old age and that is when opportunistic pathogens like CMV and EBV can reactivate and cause harm. I'm literally depressed right now and your thoughts on this would be truly appreciated!

Thank you so much! I just had my annual physical / lab work at my primary care doctor and happy to report that my labs are great and all at normal ranges. They didn't test any EBV specific markers. And overall as long as I eat healthy and try to get sleep and lower my stress when it gets too high, I am generally good! I still can't eat gluten because I get reactions and I don't do eggs (I've read this feeds the virus) and I also don't do dairy because I'm allergic. Long periods of stress can activate some shingles-type symptoms for me though, so I prioritize self care. Because of the shingles symptoms, I also stopped drinking alcohol because it worsens some nerve issues along my neck/arm/fingers.

Hi Melissa! Thank you for watching. The most impactful supplement was Immucore by Metagenics. I got mine from Wellevate. That one was recommended to me by the ND I saw. It has L-Lysine, Vitamin C, D, Selenium, Zinc, and a proprietary mushroom blend. That and a plant based diet helped me with HPV as well and cleared up all the abnormal cells. For the NAC after the MRI, the brand is Pure Encapsulations. They are trusted and also recommended by the ND. And then the ND I went to is Bastyr University Clinic. I took the Immucore for about 6 months and I recently stopped because I started to feel better and not as fatigued. I did do some labs recently (December) to check on the EBV and it says I don't have an active infection but my EBV labs are still high and low white blood cells again. Most days I feel really good and it's only some days where I feel tired. So for supplements now I'm only taking the Terraseed (multivitamin for vegans) and also when I feel stressed I do some ashwagandha in my tea. I also still do loose leaf teas during the work day. :) Are you currently going through EBV?

Hello. Yes, I still have Home Depot brand 'Traffic Master' laminate wood flooring in bedroom, which has been sealed off for several months. It's poison to my system. It's a dilemma because my landlord can't replace it for a while. And so, I believe the laminate outgassing caused sleep deprivation which triggered a massive stress event. The next morning, I woke up with my limbs feeling heavy like concrete. My condition has come a long way in six months, but the fatigue -- battery at 25% in morning, 50% during the day and evening -- remains despite many attempts to find a remedy. Chemical exposure is very hazardous to humans in the short term and long term. I have no choice but to sleep without any bed linens whatsoever and my wardrobe consists of thin athletic wear. Every textile I buy triggers a nerve + sensory reaction due to chemical outgassing. 😮 @BiancaBonus

Hi Bianca! I just found out I have EBV and I’m wondering if you also had weight loss ms muscle weakness along with your fatigue? My intuition told me to start juicing celery and I was so happy to see you doing this in the video. Thanks for sharing

I’m so sorry that you have EBV. It was such a long road of healing for me and still going! Yes, I had some muscle weakness specifically in my grip strength for my hands. I couldn’t close my fists as hard as before. Also muscle weakness every time I did yoga or any type of exercise. A bit controversial but I’ve done a bit more research and it seems like some of the Covid vaccines can activate ebv / ebv like symptoms. And I got the shots right around the time I got ebv so maybe that aggravated some of the symptoms I had. Like ringing in the ears. The weight loss came because I ended up switching my diet to match the protocol I read in the EBV book and heard about from medical medium.

Hey @morpheus5897! I have had EBV for over 2 months now and I experienced the exact same things you have with the dizziness and depersonalization. I'm so sorry, depersonalization is so horrific I completely understand what you're going through. I read online that an infectious disease specialist gave a patient with EBV who had dizziness lysine tablets so that might help. My depersonalization is getting better but there are times that it is bad. I think it's one of those things we have to wait out as we heal :) it's nice to hear someone had the same weird symptoms as me

Hi there! I have not yet done an EBV lab test since this video because I feel much better after going fully plant based and gluten free. I have my energy back and try to prioritize sleeping a full 8 hours when I can. I really recommend vegan gluten free with mostly whole unprocessed foods for anyone with EBV. It made all the difference. Before, I used to eat so much corn, eggs, grains, and processed sugar. Those have been studied to increase the EBV viral load. Now I don’t eat those and feel much better. It is a strict lifestyle and eating out is quite a challenge but so worth it.

Finally. Some answers. I have EBV. Really struggling with my insides( spleen and indigestion) such pain under my ribs. Not alot of information on this virus in South Africa. I struggle with stress alot so i think the stress flames it. I'm a single mother of a 6 year's old. I spend days crying and in pain. I do this drink. I don't smoke. I try to eat healthy and only on natural medication. I'm actually scared feel like I'm failing this and the virus is winning.

Thank you for sharing this. Really sorry this virus has affected you also. Your feelings of the virus winning makes sense. Virus replicates and causes symptoms, so I think that is what you are feeling. I hope you can find a way to treat it using supplements (L Lysine is one), avoiding food that can cause flare ups, reducing stress, and seeing what naturopathic resources you can get access to.

Unpopular opinion-im only 33 going through some "weird" symptoms myself. After taking an ebv test my NP told me it was active but convinced me that wasnt the root of my problem. So after doing some digging on the internet i joined Live Disease Free program convinced that i was dealing with a parasite infection or fungal (which im treating both now, although it hasnt relieved my symptoms). It hasnt all been a wash though because in the program Pam (the lady who guide/runs it talks about chlorine dioxide). I wouldn't look it up on google they will scare you. She actually gave a lot of great resources and podcasts like Dr Andrew Kalcker etc talking about how it gives oxygen to your body and kills fungus, larasites, viruses. A lot of ppl have used it to cure many different ailments. I have not tried it yet orally but i have heard many great healings from it --including viral-- is my point. So maybe its something to look into. Theres a lot of propaganda against it but i also feel like our medical world does not want us well.. just a suggestion to do some research
