Headrush Effects: The Acoustic Sim Is Awesome!

Музыка

In this video I cover the sound and functions of the acoustic sim modulation pedal in the Headrush line of products. They actually did a really good job with this one, it sounds fantastic when used into an FRFR system or studio monitors. A very good replication of the Boss AC3 and definitely good enough to fool some ears at an acoustic gig!
someone pointed out that I forgot to share the settings of the parametric EQ I use so here they are:
Gain 1 -4dB
Freq 1 80hz
Q1 0.7
Gain 2 +2dB
Freq 2 150hz
Q2 0.7
Gain 3 -2dB
Freq 3 250hz
Q 3 0.7
Gain 4 +2dB
Freq 4 10,000hz
Q4 0.7

I was looking to see a demo of the acoustic simulator played through electric guitar and at first glance I might have clicked the wrong video but this is exactly what I was looking for and thank you for presenting it the way you did😂❤ I was just thinking about the same concept how guitar players love to listen with their eyes. Thank you.

Thanks for the video! I'm fairly new to using modelers and really appreciate your video tutorials. I have mostly just tried stock presets and tried to edit them to sound better to me. Your videos have helped me see that not creating your own from scratch leaves you missing out on the best part of the platform. I recently purchased an MX-5 and two FRFR 108s and found your channel shortly after. I have enjoyed your videos and trying out all the features as you explain them. I specifically could not get the acoustic sim to sound good to me so thanks for tackling that one! Thanks for sharing the files as well.

Ciao Alex! I wanna thank you for sharing this video, the only one that I found who really help me out with one of the biggest issue I had with my MX5, the acoustic simulation that I wasn't satisfied so far with the pedal. I manage to pull out a decent realistic acoustic strumming sound and I'm sure I will pull out a decent acoustic solo sound and maybe even a "Nylon string" simulation? Tomorrow I will tried out on the gig this sound for fine tuning on a live situation. Thanks again and have and keep rocking dude! Ciao!!!!

I assume by "heavy" humbucker you mean either really hot passive pickups or active pickups. You can start with my parametric EQ and tweak from there. You'll probably just need to carve out the extra mids (starting at about 750-800hz) and lower mids (about 350-40hz).

Hello Alex, how do you know that the Headrush "Acoust Sim-Pedal" is supposed to represent the BOSS Acoustic Simulator (AC-3)? Is there a list that you can use as a guide? I would be very happy to hear from you. Thank you so much! Greetings, Matthias

  • @alexmansman

    @alexmansman

There is a guide available if you Google "headrush amp and effect models". It's a pdf someone made. But the reason I know the acoustic sim is the Boss AC3 is the graphic looks almost identical, the controls are literally the same, and there really aren't a lot of acoustic sim pedals on the market to begin with so it was all pretty easy to figure out
