Same thing with the OG9-3. My 01 Viggen's look like brand new, while my 06's look like crap 2yrs after the last polish. It would be cool if they took cellphone gorilla glass and curved glass technology back to headlight design.

Headlights came out great! What you should do instead of film is buying a can of 2 component (2k) UV resistant clearcoat. Then wetsand the lamps with 2000 grit, clean them and apply the clearcoat. It will come out clear once the clearcoat is hardened. The sun will kill your lamps in no-time like it is since you're in a desert state.

Nice. Turned out great! Love the look on those newer 9-5's. Another idea to save your back: Take the bumper off, leave the lights in place after removing the sidemarker covers. Park a water hose above the lights, with it dribbling enough water to keep the sandpaper wet, which will keep plastic from sticking to it(my first set of headlights used a ton of paper until I figured out why they kept loading up.). That sander may not like the water when running vertical, but you can always use an orbital sanding pad that chucks into a drill instead. It is nice to sit in a chair, arm propped up on a knee, and polish away for over an hour each, without screaming shoulders afterwards.

Great video. Nice job on the lights. Have done this myself. What grit did you start with? I think I started at 400 and worked up to 2000. I also use a few drops of soap in my water. Makes the sand paper slide better and provides some lubrication. I say keep the chrome. Don't like them painted black. The bubbling isn't that noticeable. A yard in NH just got an 06 Arbor Green sedan in. Looks really nice. Let me know if you need any parts. Paint looks nice on it. Your "how to" car vids are some of the best on ebay. Keep the 9-5 content coming!

I bet the broken fog light housing is caused from a slight accident. Your car is missing also the air dam below the front bumper. It does have 3 functions: Protection from spray water, environmental impacts, Dynamic air flow for better cooling efficiency (intercooler, gearbox oil cooler) Improving the stability of the front cladding. To repolish gassed plastic lights i suggest using a smartphone display refurbish solution; with only grinding and "painting" it lacks the necessary plasticizers so that the plastic stays supple and smooth again.
