Been there, doesn't last at all without UV coating. For mild cases, suggest single step easy and quick product and do it as frequently as necessary. Not perfect, but results are surprisingly good.

This is hard work! I put my car polisher over my 2003 Vauxhall Astra headlights using light pressure and small amounts of T-Cut. 5 -10 minutes for each. Three years between polishes, second time, only light polish needed. Job Done!

This was a lot more work and cost than needed. Plus as others have said, they will fog right back over... **UNLESS** you use something like Meguiar's Headlight Coating. I've used it, it works pretty good and looks great. It does need to be reapplied about once a year to keep them perfectly clear. But for reapplication its just a simple cleaning using something like glass window cleaner _(or whatever the bottle recommends)_ , then respray the coating. It comes in a spray can.

I've been using Meguiar's marine products for decades and have always had great results. Agree also this has got to be the most laborious, time consuming and expensive way I've ever heard for cleaning headlights. I use a metal polish called 'Peek' and a couple good rags and get excellent results in an ACTUAL five minutes.

I blame the auto industry for puttin us thru this crap. Nothing will beat the old school GLASS headlites. Unfortuntly this plastic crap is here to stay. Even if hou buy NEW lights, it's only a matter of time before they cloud up too and you're looking at three - four bills to replace those.

Took 15 minutes to replace them, that's cheap man-hours for what my time is worth. 10 years later they still look new, garage kept. That is the dumbest method out there. Alllllll clear coats will slowly yellow up within the year time. Headlight coating seals it for one to 3 years. Sometimes longer, if you keep your ride out of the sun. Even better if you have a garage. Remember folks, coating and painting are two entirely different nature's... ✌️

    1) Thats the normal method, nothing "amazing" about it. 2) to do it right it takes a lot more than 5 minutes. 3) your headlight is still full of scratches. This will distort your light. Spend more time with the 1500, 2000 and do a 2 level polish. Also go easy on the 320. When I sand with the 1500 and higher, I run water over it constantly. If it's out like this one, put it in a deep sink and sand it with the faucet running slowly Lastly, put a sealer on it.

This is too involved. All you are doing is removing the damaged outer polymer. I've done this in seconds with packing tape. Toss it on and the weak polymer threads come off when you pull it. Clear as day one.

I need 30 minutes per lighthouse to achieve a more lasting result than this one! 30 minutes because I don't use a machine, just my hands.

Nope. That's a way to redo the job every 2 months or so. The better way is to stop sanding at 600 and then to use a 2k clear varnish with uv protection in like 2-3 coats. Or you can also use clear film. These 2 ways will protect the headlights for like 3-4 years.
