SAAB 9-5 Production 2003

The Saab 9-5 was an executive car produced by the Swedish automobile maker Saab Automobile.
The first generation 9-5 was introduced in 1997 as the replacement to the Saab 9000 for the 1998 model year. At the time, the car represented a great leap forward for Saab. In the United States, the 9-5 was introduced in the spring of 1998, for the 1999 model year.
On September 15, 2009, the second generation was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show and production began in June 2010. It was the first Saab to be launched under Spyker Cars' ownership, even though it was developed almost completely under GM's ownership.

I love to drive my SAAB 9-5 Estate from 1998 that was first registrated in 1999. GM ruined SAAB when stopping SAAB from having a 4x4 version of the SAAB 9000 from the start, and then later also when SAAB wanted a 4x4 SAAB 9-5 from the beginning. A huge mistake to touch GM. I think SAAB would still produce cars today if not for General Motors. There were other car brands SAAB could have cooperated with back in time like Koenigsegg and McLaren. SAAB has to resources to make a comeback as a car producer. SAAB can create an all new model together with McLaren or Koenigsegg, and that could be a solid and big 4X4 crossover that could be a military version too with SAAB`s tradition for making not only fighter planes, but also other military stuff. I love to buy a special 4x4 SAAB crossover estate as possibly a multifuel version. Elon Musk and Tesla have now made their first hydrogen car to be launched in 2024. Hydrogen is the future, and not electrical cars.

I had a one-on-one tour of the factory in the late '90s. The tooling for the 9000s was piled up in the corner waiting to be hauled off to the salvage yard. Having owned two 9000s, that was a sad moment for me.
