Where tf have you worked out where bosses would just take the word of a Karen over their employees?. You can’t just fire people over 1 complaint especially if you don’t have someone ready to replace them. The bosses probably just don’t like you if they would do something stupid like that

I mean at least at the end of the day at least for someone like me I just move on with my life knowing I still can do whatever I feel like doing in my spare time. I've worked at Mc Donalds for as long as Milard at Subway, but I personally always keep in mind that my day should still go by the same way whether that customer gave me attitude and or felt entitled. Still gonna go to class, do hw, play video games, hangout with friends and family, buy my groceries etc. I wasn't handicapped, or destroyed emotionally because he or she hurt my family or loved ones. In Melads situation it's different since it's owned by his family

I've worked tech support, another field that can be toxic. One thing you'll learn within the first week outside of training is this: the customer is not always right. Never let the fact that you have to stay professional completely overshadow the fact that the interaction between employee and customer is still between human beings. Being a customer does not ever condone disrespect or being condescending.

the customer is always right is a reference to the power of customer choice. example being: if you have apples and oranges for sale but only the apples sale, then the customer choose your apples and in this decision they are always right. customers dont like this explanation though lol

Worked in ER. Someone missed her routine dental appointment, and decide to go to ER and asked us to call the dentist for routine checkup.

"I shouldn't have any emotions while working." Impossible. You're human, not a robot. I work retail and my old boss felt like this, and I used to bottle up everything until I literally had a breakdown. I would never say if I felt ill or if I was uncomfortable until I threw up or nearly passed out. Thankfully I have a new boss and she is way more understanding. Everybody has a bad day. It's impossible to give 110% of you every single day.

That's why when I worked my first minimum wage job if somebody said something to me I would say something back I didn't care if I got fired or not for it lol Never got fired even after pissing plenty of people off I ended up quiting myself after 4 months when i realized i was pretty much working full time 9 hour days and getting paid part time wages im luckily on a much better job i actually like now.

this happens often especially at Chickfila where we are KNOWN for our interstellar customer service, so people get cranky when someone is slightly below that level of customer service. I've had to deal with lots of complaints, even before I became a manager I was always the one to have to talk to the hangry customers

We don't have Chickfila here but I work at a cinema and when I started there my boss told me that if we do our jobs to the best of our abilities they will always stand by us. Now that I am manager I do the same and even get snappy with customers who are in the wrong. We don't tolerate disrespect to employees.

Yeah once I was buying coffee with some of my friends at dutch bros you know how they are kinda a more chill place having music playing well I guess this lady had order whatever coffee 3 times and got a refund for the first 2 but she just cuts through halve of us to complain about the music and how her coffee didn´t have whatever powder they didn´t have whenever I oredered my coffee I ended up saying sorry you have to deal with people like that.

Hi milad😁im only 14 and just got my first job at subway in PA i love your content and i want to be like you so I applied yesterday and got the job i start Saturday

Ran my own business for over 10 years and have dealt with this before. Ran everything a little to keep me up to date on how operations went so had a customer order go sideways due to our supplier. They called in and I told them what happened and they flipped out and I stayed calm explaining several times how I am doing to fix the situation. They said get my manager, so I put down the phone, went to the bathroom and came back. When I said hello again they went on how I was swearing and how they have never been treated that way. I said they just spoke to me and I was the owner/operator. I called them a lying sack of s**t and canceled their order and banned their account. The customer is always lying and no one should have to deal with that.

*Nah mate you really really had a good point.* He shouldn’t just expect everything to be perfect within a perfect time. Sometimes there’s staff shortages, system malfunctions, miscommunications, you name it. You did a solid thing my sticking it to him.

I just love Milad …. I mean the way he tell us his subway stories are just awesome and you could just flow through all his videos and still be like I need more of these stories … thank you Milad for all your awesome stories

Stay hard workin man!! Customer's aren't always right. No one is ALWAYS right, and who is right is not determined by social position, but by the points made and discussed.

"I know I shouldn't have any emotional when working" is one of the most self-dehumanising things I've ever heard. Be human, have emotions, eat the rich who force us to remove ourselves from our labor!

Unfortunately now days it's like two polar opposites we either have people thinking they should act like robots or wear a bleeding heart on their sleeve. That and the whole "The customer is always right" needs to fucking die.. The customer is rarely right and generally an asshole. (But sometimes they are but those people aren't assholes about it and are understanding)

Whenever I hear stories like this I always remember that scene from Mallrats. Ben Affleck's character acts like he's gonna whisper in the guy's ear after he told him the customer is always right, and Ben Affleck, instead of whispering, yells "The customer's always an asshole!".

i got hired at my local subway and absolutely love it! you honestly were one of my top inspirations to apply and dont regret it at all!

Same boat man. I don't even work in fast food but i still have " customers ". And it's always best to try to let that stuff go right by and just continue to do your job as best you can. Some people have other things going on that are making them unhappy and you can't do anything about it other than go through the steps and move on with your life.

When I was 18 and a senior of highschool I was fired from from a subway because I handed a drive thru customer their change with my gloves on totally on accident. It was a rush. A very big one. They called the someone in charge like a higher up and I was fired same day. I was homeless at that time of my life and I still continued to go to football workouts at 7 am. I needed that damn job at that moment of my life. They made me work so hard washing dishes for 5 hours almost straight. End rant.

Which is why you should vote for Social Democrats ala Bernie Sanders. In Norway, a Social Democracy, firing someone for such would be illegal. It is written down in national worker laws that people should have a chance to improve if they have done something that is wrong, but not to the level of stealing or similar. In turn you get a written warning which lasts about 6 months and only if similar happens again. Or you have a long sheet record of similar stuff every year or something. Only then can they fire you. If they still do, you get free court aid, sue them and win a decent amount of money in court. That said, you will never get huge payouts in Norway regardless of what you sue people for. It doesnt work like that. In turn it allows people to be more human and not constantly fearful of being sued for trivial things. That said, getting fired illegally is not a trivial thing.

The way you fold that paper in the video is always so satisfying.

I've worked at a gas station where people tried to fight me for asking what brand of cigarettes they wanted cause they didn't say. Or asking "Plastic tip, or wood tip?" when they ask for a cigar that comes in those two versions and they didn't specify, but I guess that was a good enough reason to try to start a fight with me. Some people just suck.

Some people take the word "service" to horrible levels. I know being quiet is the safest thing, but it does feel good to stand up!

You are lucky that you learned that valuable life lesson so early in your life. Some people who have crappy jobs come into service jobs to unload. I learned my lesson that successful people sometimes act distant or aloof because they are not going to apologize for being successful to someone who wants to confront them about why they are successful of have nice things. I think when someone is looking to get into a fight or argument anything you say will be taken the wrong way.

People should be held accountable to how they treat fast food and workers in general.

People need to understand that the customer isn’t always right. Just because you work in the food industry doesn’t mean you have to tolerate disrespect. Props to you for trying to keep patient but honestly you shouldn’t beat yourself up for responding the way you did. People are assholes and now is the time for food industry workers to realise their worth and not tolerate disrespect from anybody.

I like when people say they will never be back again. It is almost as if they are doing you a favour because you know they are just going to be a problem and try to get free food any way and even if they tell their friends, the friends probably would take it with a grain of salt.
