I would sell what you don't want. But maybe pick a charity or organization that your mom loved to donate some of the money to. I definitely believe this man was god sent.

I agree 100% - since she did ask our opinion. Maybe donate a portion to an animal shelter or the vet that your mom loved or something. Then everyone wins. The man did something nice and gets a clean house, you get to pick what you like and make a little money and both of you contribute to a great cause. Win, win, win!

How very nice of him!! Surprising him with a fruit/veggie basket and/or gift card to a local restaurant or even making a donation to a local charity in his name would be a very nice way to thank him for his generosity. I would sell what I didn’t want, but would donate at least half of the money to one of my mom’s favorite charities.

What a blessing to receive all those vintage toys from that kind man for free! I had that feeling when a lady gave me a stack of White Mountain jigsaw puzzles for free. I love White Mountain puzzles!!

What a fateful day that had you cross paths with such a generous man. You've had a rough go of it for a while now so it is gratifying to see something nice happen for you for a change. I will say that there is an ick factor if you were to sell the items that he so generously gave to you. For the ones you don't want, I'd donate them to a worthy charity or give them away in a FB Buy Nothing group for your area. If you do decide to sell anything, I'd definitely give him some of the money or a gift card for reciprocation.

The way I see it is people donate stuff to Goodwill and places like that and they turn around and sell it. Besides you probably done the gentleman a huge favor by taking it off his hands. We all could use some extra money these days for sure. Nothing wrong with that. I hope this helps. 🙏🏻
