But, i really don't care what color a person is because there is so much more to people than color. Bobby Caldwell is the perfect example! ❤❤❤

To say the black community was shock is an understatement. Not revealing Bobby Caldwell’s race was a strategic move by record label. Remember this was in 1978, things were different. This was played on every black radio station and everyone thought he was a “brother”😂 I remember my mom saying: I’ll be damn he’s white and sounds smooth as hell😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. This will forever be a classic💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥. By the way your reaction when his face appeared was everything😂

This is one of the reasons why I love “The Voice.” Maybe people don’t mean to do it and certainly not in a bad way, but we do judge people by the way they look. I’ve seen some people open their voice to sing and I’ve been blown away! There’s been a number of people on the reaction videos that I’ve seen and I thought all my life they were black. Of ALL the Bobby Caldwell reaction videos - and there are a plethora - this is my fave. He reacts first and stops jammin. Then she reacts when Bobby steps out of the shadows and she stops groovin and just freezes. Love it. Minute 2:18 kills it - at the close up. It's like they didn't REALLY believe it until the tight shot on his face. Like, maybe he light skin. Hahahahaha! Nope. Shout out to Bobby who wrote this classic hit in a minute. And we're still jammin' 40 years later at the barbeque. He's 71 years old now and though he's well known in the US for this song, he's a legend in Japan.

LMAO!!!! The look on your faces was awesome once you saw Bobby come out of the shadows. Funny thing is, there were a LOT of people who had the same WTF reaction when we saw him on TV doing that song that night and since we only heard the song on the radio we had no idea he was white, especially since the song was being played on "Soul" radio stations. Just goes to show you, music is NOT about color, it is about "soul". Love your channel. Just found it tonight when I saw your initial reaction to KC and the SSB. LOL!!

so we add Bobby to my post on your KC video. I guess I never questioned if a singer was white or black by the way they sound, it didn't really matter. But it blows my mind and cracks me up when reactors see these singers and they're not what they were expecting. Mel don't say you feel ignorant about not knowing, everyone grew up differently so unless you were watching American Bandstand in the 70s' you wouldn't have seen most of these artists. But you're both experiencing these wonderful artists now is what's important.
