This is from the 1976 Knebworth Fair in Hertfordshire, England. The largest crowd that Lynyrd Skynyrd ever played in front of. It was approximately 250,000 people, in the middle of an English drought, which is why Ronnie Van Zant tells the crowd "make it rain" as the song starts. The band line-up's were 10CC, Hot Tuna, Todd Rundgren's Utopia, The Don Harrison Band who's members included at it's core former Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook and their former drummer Doug Clifford, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & The Rolling Stones, and by a large % of accounts from concert goers that attended that show, Skynyrd blew the Rolling Stones off the stage that day!

Well, I was there, Skynyrd blew the Stones away. They waited hours for the crowd to settle after Skynyrd the best Knebworth festival I ever attended, awesome band

This song at Knebworth is one of my all-time favorite Skynyrd performances...just blazing hot energy. Especially the triple guitars of Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, and Steve Gaines and the piano of Billy Powell...all amazing musicians!

Skynyrd never gets old. I just saw Artimus Pyle band at a small casino here in Oklahoma last weekend, he played all the hits. He can still play the hell out of them drums

I saw them in 74 overseas. They opened for Queen, which made no sense, since Lynyrd Skynyrd was far more popular. We had the red or blue plaid shirts then. We called Skynyrd back on stage twice. Queen was booed, did one set, and left. I do not fault Queen. This was terrible planning. Had great seats. Skynyrd's lead singer was drinking the German beer and asked us why we didn't warn him about the German beer, since it was stronger than US beer then. Glad ya'll did this one.

I think the Stones would have been a good fit with Skynyrd. Queen was not. They came out wearing what looked like nightgowns and singing their rock opera sounding songs. @@jasonspaulding3949

It's fun to see a new generation reacting to what Skynyrd gave us. I assume the Lulu hair reference is to Gary ("Prince Charming") Rossington, who recently passed. Gary was the inspiration for the Skynyrd song "That Smell". You can hear the Prince Charming reference in the lyrics. Have fun on your Lynyrd Skynyrd journey.

This was at the Rolling Stones. Concert Knebworth England. They were told to stay off the tongue on stage. Of course, during Free Bird, they walked on to the tongue LOL. They were rebels. If you have not heard Jimmy Rodgers songs please do. I love all of his songs.

Jimmie Rodgers was a 1920s Country superstar. One of the first big deals. His version is nothing like this. They reworked the song and put this out.
