It happens to some people who end up in jail and have the time for self reflection of where they went wrong in life and how they can move on and become better people at a different life stage. Tarryn Thomas is a young man in his 20s fuelled by testosterone and anger towards women now. He more than likely will become a different person at a later stage in life when he gains more wisdom maturity

Let's get things straight, Thomas is not a victim, the AFL shouldn't bend over backwards for him and offer him anything. If they want be real about violence toward women then they should ban him from ever playing.

Why are we giving him excuses. "He's a kid...", "He's misguided...". He is NOT LEARNING. He is NOT WELCOME. Stop giving him the airtime he does not deserve.

Why is it someone who plays football should not only be protected by their employer until they no longer can but be given unlimited chances? If you are employed anywhere else in this country you will be dismissed after that first incident but this moron had so many chances and still didn’t wake up and I hear Brad Scott sitting there defending him! Once he no longer has a footy career that could well be where he finishes up. His brother is already in jail for a long stint in Sydney. If TT moves up to Sydney that could spell trouble for him.

The man is 24 years old. He is no longer a kid. Forget misguided or mistreated, the NMFC and the AFL have reached out support and re-educate and Tarryn has not even remotely taken an interest in changing his actions. Sick of all the excuses.

There should be a draft lottery for the bottom 4-6 teams

You've got to feel for North Melbourne. They tried four different external approaches to rehabilitation, in spite of a low funds in their soft cap, they're bottom of the ladder, a 40 point loss is looked at as great improvement, they need players of his talent and age, and they can't even get anything back in a trade now.

Losing possibly the best and most talented player on your list for nothing in return is a huge price to pay for a club that is rock bottom. He could have been the big bodied mid North is screaming out for. Another first round pick down the drain for nothing that North could be blamed for. The well positioned vultures were lining up to take advantage of this situation on the cheap to rub further salt into the North wounds, but might now be stopped in their tracks.

Thomas is 24, not 14. He's not a kid and shouldn't be treated like one. You can make mistakes, but eventually you have to face the consequences

What a waste. For sure he will look back in 10-15 years and feel a huge amount of regret!

If this guy doesnt want to change, doesnt accept help, what can you do? In society in general to stop dv... i dont think he should be playing afl, playing afl is a privilege not a right that is taken away. Helping the real victims should be the first priority. The afl and clubs could offer do help them maybe. And it shouldnt be used as marketing, just help and dont ask for a pat on the back for it

Accused persons need to be evicted from all forms of sport until fully cleared. Criminals have no place in sport. So also past players, coaches, etc should be omitted from the records and not be included in any future considerations including past champions.

North Melbourne were never the right club to support him. They don’t have the resources or culture to help him, as well as the fact they have so many other issues to tackle they could never realistically prioritise getting him back on track with life. A club like Collingwood (ironic considering their past culture) would be perfect. Everything you hear about that club is that the culture is strong, family friendly, extremely supportive to each other harbours an environment of pushing everyone to be the best version of themselves on and off the field. That’s the sort of place Thomas needs.

He clearly has no interest in playing footy. This chick is his only focus. He is going to have to take his focus off her and gradually start focusing on other things. Maybe one day he will be interested in footy again, then take it from there

Collingwood quite clearly don't take those kind of players anymore and very rightly so ever since the Eddie Maguire regime ended back 2021. Its too big a club with too big a spotlight and they generally do a great deal of good around the community.
