I feel so bad for Steve in this flick. The guy had one positive role model in Darren, and then Darren dies. I hate the part where the Vampire tastes his blood and refuses him, implying that him being a bad kid is somehow cooked into his DNA. That's a fucked up message.

@@Ecargallasandra My disability especially kicked off late in middle school, so I dropped out, unable to graduate. Now I'm 19, and mostly bed-bound. So, I don't really understand fully what it's like to lose the ability to work, because I never got it. I'm also mentally disabled, so I didn't get a job as a teen. I wish you the best, it really isn't easy being disabled, especially in this world.

@@septicshock1018 I’m so sorry to hear it hit you so young. That’s just not fair or right. I hope you’re hanging in there. It’s a long journey but we don’t have any other choice but to walk it haha. I got diagnosed at 26. I’ve retained some brain damage to my basil ganglia, so my head isn’t where it used to be either, neither is my mobility or speech, I have multiple seizures nearly everyday. The thing is though, we aren’t alone in this. You’re not alone. I know it’s hard, as it’s hard for me, but we got this. One thing that’s helped me is learning workarounds for my struggles brought on by my physiological illness.

@@Ecargallasandra Hold up, that's CRAZY! I also have basal ganglia damage (and encephalitis), and IVIG is one of the only treatments that works the best for me! I can't get it unfortunately, but I'm making do. Even though I wish others didn't have to go through this too, deep down, it's nice to talk to someone who understands the struggle.

I love this guy the titles are interesting, and I also love how his voice is calming and how he makes sudden jokes, voices etc he deserves more

The movie changes a lot of stuff. It was supposed to be an adaptation to the first arc (first 3 books) but not only changes a lot of things but also borrows some plot points from later arcs without consideration for the whole overarching plot. The books (at least the the first 7 ones that I read) are pretty great.

Okay lemme make a confession 😭 It's funny but i find the narraters voice very calming and I'm someone with insomnia but i noticed that whenever i watch his videos at night i feel relaxed therefore i always play his videos (not the scary ones tho) whenever I'm about to sleep. This was freaking fabulous!! Thanks so much for taking on Cirque Du Freak and giving it such a sweetly irreverant treatment. I'm not sure what the movie adaptors would make of it, but personally I loved it!! Darren Shan. (The writer, not the actor in the movie!!)

I think the gravity of this movie was lost on me as a kid. Halma Sayek, Willem Defoe, John C Riley, Josh Hutcherson... Certified A and B listers starring as my favourite book characters! Really cool to see it pop up on one of these big movie recap channels

JOhn C Riley divided opinion, as many people only know him for his comedy films, and found that hard to reconcile, but I think he did a great job. He also read all the books and pushed (alas, unsuccessfuly) to have the film be more faithful to the source material.

I adored these books as a child. I was in 6th grade when the movie came out. Ever since I've seen the movie when I re-read the books I visualize Crepsley as John. C Reilly. Man I gotta re-read these books again now.

Cirque du Freak series is AMAZING. If you like adventures, gore, and vampires with a GREAT story line, you really need to check out the books! They also have a spinoff of Mr Crepsley called the Saga of Larten Crepsley. All books by Darren Shan!

Ive read the books. Not all of them. I cant remember how many there are, but this is the only series thats actually been able to keep my attention. I hardly ever touch books, but being in school, I decided to randomly check out the first book. I read through a big portion of the series, but then I graduated. Once again, books are so much better than the movies. I remember the series is called Cirque Du Freak.

Pretty sure it didn't get a sequel bc movie was trash and a lot of shit was changed and stuff that wasn't suppose to be mentioned in first movie got brought in basically messing with entire series plot.

This movie was amazing

The vampires assistant was my teenage years. Would watch non stop for weeks on end, I have the books (ebook and physical copies) and one of the comics. Still would watch it non stop.

oh hell yeah, Cirque Du Freak! I loved this book series as a kid!! It even has a pretty good manga adaptation. :)

Cirque Du Freak was very nice I love the series and the final battle.

I remember reading these series of books the movie is based on. The plot twist at the end was really trippy and bizarre for my young brain.

Just got woken up a 6am to a wonderful call. My brother had his baby ❤ now I'm gonna listen to a recap from my favorite channel and pass tf back out.
