Oh come on now, you can't compare this performance to the SNL 1997 live version. I love Mariah but nobody is immune from the effects of life and aging.

Her backup singers were LEGIT shocked 0:57 that bold headed girl was like WHHHATTT?. Her voice was insanely clear that night. Even her backups were not expecting this.

@@fabianferrada2501 uh actually it is? u can hear the difference in volume from the prerecorded "i'd give my all to have..." and her coming in with LIVE vocals in the continuing line: "just one more night with you"! i was at the front row and the difference in volume was more pronounced so i can assure u that part was live !!

The more she performs, the more her voice warms up and makes it easy for her to sing. Contrary to popular belief, resting only makes her lose agility. The vocal chords are muscles so when they are regularly trained, they are in good shape.

HELLLOOOO do you guys not hear WHY Tika (background singer) and the keyboard player was so shook?!?! at 2:20 THE CONTROLLLLLLLL!!! OMFG!!! What sets Mariah apart and still does is the amazing beauty and youthfulness of her tone. She doesn't sound like she's almost 50! She still sounds like a young girl (in a good way). Her technique and vocal health might vary from time to time but HER TONE remains amazing regardless. And that's something technique and singing lessons CAN'T give YOU at all. You are born with it and Mariah sure is a one of a kind in that department.

I love seeing her background vocalists, who are vocal beasts on their own, fawn and fangirl on her!!! I can only imagine all the beautiful vocals they have the privilege to hear offstage!! That is actually my dream job!!

The amount of times Mimi’s left me with goosebumps is so crazy 😭
