Not the best lens in the world but it is the kit lens. A better one is the 14-45. Nice boats, one of them yours???

@pmcginn497 just got mine 14-42, compare it to a professional one is sh!t... it you compare it to the top class compact camera like canon g10, this lense has less zoom neither as wide. suggest you get the 20mm 1.7, unless for film, this has built in IS. But i do get some really good bokeh after a few hours of playing with it, the distance of camera and subject for best bokeh effect is about 65cm away, further than that distance, will start to lose the blur background as you need to get sharper
