Good idea, I have a Lumix GF3 camera and several vintage optics, including a Jupiter 8 50mm f2, I'm going to take street photography with that equipment.

Great video showing the real world capabilities of these older GF cameras. Have had a GX85 for a couple years now and love it but wanted a supplement camera as well. Found the GF3 for a great price and am looking forward to using it more. It also takes the same battery as the GX85 so its very easy to support. Thanks.

Agreed. I actually had the GX85 (and GX9) and sold it to keep shooting on the GF1 (and GF7 which I bought new). Hard to beat the satisfaction you get with these older cameras. Sometimes, newer cameras just feel 'too high-tech'

Love the leading lines on that last shot, bit of a cracker that one David. I must play with my Helios lenses a bit more, I seem to have been selecting the same 3 lenses over and over again recently. Another cool video.

I love my Helios lenses. I have the 44m that I used in this video and a 44-2 that I rescued from Chris before he had a chance to chuck it in the bin😂 They just seem to work great whether it’s on full frame, apsc or m4/3. Thanks for watching, Tim🖖

I recently bought a GF6 for £50 and paired it with a Canon FD 50mm F1.8 SSC which I had sitting in a gear drawer - I am just blown away with what results I have had with this combo...

I’m a big fan of apsc, but with a more modern mft I think the performance would be comparable. I’ve been using the Olympus em10mkii for a couple of weeks and I’m really enjoying it. All of the b-roll in this one was shot with the em10 mk ii 🖖

That Helios-44 can produce some great images, but it feels really front-heavy on something dinky like a GF2. I like pairing my E-M10ii with an old Jupiter-8. Both are nice though for getting close street shots.

Yeah the gf2 doesn’t weigh much compared to a 40 year old metal lens, but it strangely doesn’t feel too bad to use. I just got the 45mm f1.8 for the EM 10 mkii so I can get close to that range now with af👍

I honestly don’t remember, but I’ve used manual lenses on dslrs for years and just leaned to eyeball it. I’d been a photographer for about a decade before I ever had a camera with focus peaking😁

Can u teach me how to tap the screen to see closer before u take the picture? ❤❤❤

No it’s not the GF2. I don’t remember exactly what I used, but at that point in time it was possibly the a7s🖖

I honestly couldn’t say as it’s not a camera I’ve used, but I’ve just had a look at what Panasonic say about it and it seems like a less feature packed version of the GX80. Depending on how you want to use it, it might be ok 👍

The best lens depends very much on what you’re shooting, but the 12-60mm f2.8-4 is my go-to for most daytime shooting🖖
