You made an amazing point :) a wrong marriage between old man with too young girl will surely make her mentally sick &damage her character. But, go and read more about Aisha from the same book you used to find her age when she got married, then tell me who she was. Aisha was ready to get married. During her life with the prophet &after his death, she was woman leader, teacher, very wise, strong &brave woman. Use your brain &the full reality & read everything, not just what you hear from others

My mother born in 1930's had no idea what exactly her date and year of birth were but Aisha R A knew her age at the age of six exactly. Wow! Aisha RA was 3 years younger than Fatima who was 28 when prophet PBUH died making Aisha 25. Her marriage lasted 8 years so she was 17 when she married and that quote in bukhari is just some misunderstanding as Aisha was married before in childhood to another man and got divorced before moving to madina

and FYI, virgin mary was 14 when she gave birth to Jesus (incase you're christian). Legal age of marriage in texas: 14. About 100 years ago that used to be 10. It's all about context and maturity. In the prophets time when there was no media, fashion, accessories, games and other things that keep us childish, women and men matured mentally and physically by the age of 10-14. It was a harsh physical life they had to go through, incomparable by age and mentality to women and men of today.

But if they turn away [from thee, O Prophet, know that] We have not sent thee to be their keeper: thou art not bound to do more than deliver the message [entrusted to thee]. (Ash-Shura 42:48) In yet another verse, Allah addresses the issue of harming non-Muslims: Thus, if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them. (An-Nisaa' 4:90)

Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures. Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit.

In the Hebrew language im is added for respect. Similarely im is added after the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to make it Muhammadim. In English translation they have even translated the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as “altogether lovely”, but in the Old Testament in Hebrew, the name of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is yet present.

Islam in its purest and original method of teaching shows us how to be better human beings. I will agree with those who say that the Islamic world today is not ideal - but flawed. That's completely true - and a fault of our divided and segregated leaders. Those leaders who do not support countries like Palestine, Libya, Iraq, Syria. But watch on the sidelines. Even if Iraq had a dictator, muslim countries should have united against him. Islam teaches, people dont follow.

Quran clearly says LYING is a SIN Sahih Muslim Bk 032 No6303: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: A LIAR is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (to avert dispute) or he conveys good. Exemption was NOT granted in anything incase on LIE but in 3 cases: (1) in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and (2) narration of words of husband to his wife and (3) vice versa (wife to husband in twisted form to bring reconciliation between them)

you can believe it to be stockholm syndrome, but in those cases "captives" tend to lash out once they are "free". Ayesha (rah) never once complained about her marriage or her husband even after his death. She had endless words of compassion & love for her late husband. So, the wife of the prophet debunks your stockholm syndrome theory. Also, our prophet was a man. he was a messenger of God, he was not a diety or above humans. We follow only his way of life - in all aspects and not just marriage

Thank you for the sympathy!! First of all, in a time when wives would be easily used to raped and maimed by their husbands who have 40 more wives, I don't think that was humane at all!!! Islam came to eliminate such a thing. And yes, we are not allowed to marry more than one wives if we cannot keep the previous wife happy and if she doesn't want me to get married twice, then she's unhappy and thus, I'm not allowed to do so. In islam, women control men and that was at a time when women=animals!!

Sura An-Nisa (Surah 4: verse 6) Also: 22:5 40:67 6:152 17:34 46:15 and so on. All talk about "reaching full strength" or "until they are able to marry" This covers the "puberty" part. As for the consent: 2:232 "Do not prevent them from marrying their husbands when they agree between themselves in a lawful manner" Also: 4:21 "Agreement between man and wife" 2:232 again goes on to say that divorced women may marry again "of their own consent and agreement"

He remained like that for his first forty years. Revelation then came to Muhammad with the Koran that we now have between our hands. This Koran mentioned most of the accounts found in the previous scriptures, telling us about these events in the greatest detail as if he witnessed them. These accounts came precisely as they were found in the Torah sent down to Moses and in the Gospel sent down to Jesus. Neither the Jews or Christians were able to belie him regarding anything that he said.

Muslims use phrases like "Allaah with us", but it is not physically. He is with us with His power and His knowledge. He knows everything we do and is able to do anything to us, including helping us. Even in radio and TV people say things like "stay with us at channel ..." it's a common metaphor

It's not wrong to begin with, the standards are different these days, but it's always been the case that a girl who reached puberty was ready for marriage and the same goes for boys. What I was getting it was showing the hypocrisy of Christians screaming foul at the marriage of the prophet and Isha when they themselves believe that it was OK for the virgin Marry and Joseph. Not a two wrongs make a right argument.

"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.

In the Middle Ages, when people were actually majority Christians in Europe, &they were very-very religious, it was normal for a girl to get married in 12-14 years old. In the age of 12 she considered to be ready for marriage &they used to plan already for her future. In India until now they can marry babies when they are just born, &this is not ancient times. You are not God to call any tribe a sinner :)

There's a reason these man made laws exist. women and men of today mature at a much, much more later age both physically and mentally then they did 1400 years ago. (Lazy lifestyle, video games, fashion, media, celebrities, boy bands) things like these keep you childish. So no one "wants" to marry early anyway. 1400 years ago, people lived a harsh physical life and matured faster. She consented to the marriage, he did as well, she loved and adored him. What's the problem here?

Still a girl is not ready at such a young age. Which verse says a girl can marry at puberty? At 6 years old consent cannot be given by a mere child. And its definitely impossible to menstruate at 6 years old. The Menstruation is very irregular for the first two years, a girl is not ready at all even at puberty. Are women just destined for subjugation? My Husband's friend has married a girl younger than his daughter. People look at them and says "who's the daughter and who's the mother"

SHE IS AISHA, of course... This could never be the case of a sexual abused and insulted girl. So, by those PSYCHOLOGICAL facts, Aisha was never abused sexually and never been insulted... You were trying to claim that the verse you referenced allows marriage to a girl who hadn't reached puberty, which I just showed you was a lie. So, instead of answering my rebuttal, you changed the subject to marriage to young women in general, and yes, in Islam puberty is considered to be the age for eligibility for marriage, and no Muslim will tell you otherwise. So, you're being deceptive :)

    2. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also foretold of everything that would occur to him and his community after him, pertaining to victory, the removal of the tyrannical kingdoms of Chosroes [the royal title for the Zoroastrian kings of Persia] and Caesar, and the establishment of the religion of Islam throughout the earth. These events occurred exactly as Muhammad foretold, as if he was reading the future from an open book.

Buckari volume 9 book 93 number 477 'Aisha said, "If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' (6.103) And if anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen the Unseen, he is aliar, for Allah says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah." This hadeeth contradict other hadeeth that says Nabi Muhammed Knew the unseen

1 1. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was raised illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained like that till his death. Among all his people, he was known as being truthful and trustworthy. Before receiving revelation, he had no prior knowledge of Religion or any previously sent Message.

I disagree, society inherently dictates the issue. That's why society has laws in developed countries that dictate the minimum marital age for it to be considered legal. Oh and as for the mental and physical part - you're right. But if the girl consents to the marriage then you're wrong. Ayesha (RAH) never once complained about the prophet. she had only love, compassion, respect and admiration for her husband, even after his death when she could have easily said otherwise.

Here is an example from the Quran. [Surah Yunus (Chapter Jonah - 10) Verses 13 and 14:] Translation by Thomas Cleary (non-Muslim): "We destroyed communities before you when they did wrong. Their messengers came to them with clarifications, but they could not believe. Thus do We requite sinful people. (13). Then We made you successors on earth after them, that We might see how you act. (14). "

    3. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also brought an Arabic Koran that is the peak of eloquence and clarity. The Koran challenged those eloquent and fluent Arabs of his time, who initially belied him, to bring forth a single chapter like the Koran. The eloquent Arabs of his day were unable to contest this Koran.

Picture a man in his 80s sitting next to a 12-14 year old girl. You'd think he was her grandfather, only to find that he was her husband. Who are those you ask? Virgin Marry and Joseph :)
