    Hazel's brilliance is clearly her patience...She patiently answers questions, and her completion of ideas is precise, much more so than other artists who appear online, instructing painting techniques. Her vast experience and confidence makes her a master at execution as well as elocution which makes her a true jewel! I have purchased her books they are equally outstanding. She's truly inspiring and joyful to watch.

    Pozzouli red Earth is a Maimeri Blu color apparently. I don't see any other manufacturers using that name. From a quick Google search it looks like Maimeri is an Italian paint brand and Pozzouli is a place in Italy.

    I love everything about Hazel's work. What few lines she starts out with quietly disappear in a kaleidoscope of dancing light and tonal variations. She embraces movement and change as necessary fundamental elements for making her paintings come alive. I find myself looking for Alfred Hitchcock, ie her and her companions, in many of her scenes.

    She didn't take up Claire's question at time stamp 25:25 . I was really looking forward to hearing on that. I really struggle with that. Does any experienced watercolourist have any tips? I have a feeling it has to do with keeping the consistency of the paint above and below same. Would love to hear someone with this skill to talk about it. I wanted to add to "without getting muddy"... without making 1 colour overpower or even ride into the area where the other is painted.

  • @doodoodoodle

    @doodoodoodle

    2 жыл бұрын

    If I understand it correctly, choosing the right colors will help a lot. When I first started a lot of my stuff got pretty muddy, not that I'm very experienced. Some colors (like red and green) will cancel eachother out, sometimes getting a bit murky/dull when mixed. Which isn't bad if that's the intention, but.... I'm still trying to get better with color theory. I've been watching videos on it and I do a lot of color mixing exercises in my mixed media sketchbook. It's helped a lot with chosing what colors to put down/how to mix certain colors Also if you mean you're trying to avoid the colors mixing when painting the shirt then painting the pants for example, I think she probably uses less water towards borders/where color transitions to another, so they don't run/mix as much. She probably doesn't use a whole lot of water to begin with so it dries quickly (could be wrong, I'm actually at the part in the video you're referring to lol) I dunno if this helps but good luck! ❤ :^)
