Take a sketchbook with you everywhere, small or medium size and use it. At lunch or break leave your phone and quick sketch, no details, do as many as possible, when you are on the train or on the phone - more sketch. You'll instantly see where you need improvement and just work on it, let your hand and eye have a date, get to know each other, they will be friends.

@@niazhannanwatercolors Your tutorials really hammer home the fundamentals, and that's what gets people started. The simplicity of your figures is very encouraging, people will struggle with proportions, yours are sublime, but they will try. The head and feet take a while. You have talent but also are a skilled instructor and break down the elements that are important very clearly. Good job.
This is an absolutely brilliant tutorial - I've never been able to add figures with any success but my last few attempts following these guidelines have actually been believable - thank you!

Truly excellent tutorial. I have watched dozens of small figure tutorials and this one has made it so easy Start with this none and learn to add the detail later if you need it.
This is brilliant Niaz! Thanks for the demo and words of encouragement to move past fear! So helpful, you are a talented and generous artist.

And thank you for taking the perfection out of forming body parts. THIS is helping me so much. All that classical art “training“ has been modernized and means so much more to me than copying what people “think” figures should be. Thank you! Aloha
All your demos and tutorials are really helpful 100% 🙌 Glad I found your channel here on KZread.

I’m SO grateful for this tutorial. And I get it - it’s clearly very rewarding to develop a style that’s yours alone - so I’ll put in the work and practice to develop that. 👍👍
Omg in 11 minutes, correctly for people now days. Just want instant by copying, but don't know how to process it. You are one of cool kids.

Really appreciate your lessons...how you break apart what seems to be a complicated scene and make it accessible for us to have a try without the anxiety....i have started trying out your "cityscape" lessons and its just wonderful to get something decent so fast!!! Thank you so much...your work is beautiful....
I've learnt more in three minutes with you than years with others!
Amazing tutorial, Niaz. I think that just by watching I am beginning to overcome my fear of painting human figures in watercolor. I can hardly wait to come home and try it all in practice. And also, I wouldn't mind to be another Niaz, whether the world needs one or not.
The BEST TUTORIAL I HAVE EVER SEEN ABOUT PAINTING FIGURES THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH CAN YOU POSSIBLY POST ANOTHER ON HOW TO PAINT CARS ?

I love the commentary - thanks for badgering us to paint instead of just watch :D
Brilliant.
Love this! @niazhannanwatercolors You instruct to keep all heads at the same level. Why is that? Wouldn't people with different heights have them at different levels? Is it a simplification thing or is it a perspective thing or a stylistic choice?
@niazhannanwatercolors
3 ай бұрын
Imagine you are standing on the street and your eyes look straight ahead that is called eye level. In this particular case our we are talking your eye level and you will see all the heads in almost a straight line. But then if you are standing on the terrace of a building perspective changes and people becomes just dots
Great demo. Thank you
I love Jim R and your paintings 😄

This is very helpful, I will paint it again and again to practice more. The gestural figures if people even closer like painting a street Cafe scene or sitting and talking on a park bench, these are hard. I can't seem to move beyond caricatures of people upclose enough to see features, hands, etc., but not close enough to be detailed portraits.
Thank you. Very wonderful
You are a great Painter ! a love it very much!

Hi Niaz! Yours are the best videos I've watched for figure drawing in watercolour! You really have this little something that extracts from us that fear(that all beginners normally have)& adds compelling motivation, particularly when you set challenges to us! As a senior citizen, having keen interest in art,yet incredibly fearful of" committing mistakes", I convey all my best wishes to you as a young and very talented artist/watercolourist in your career! Warmest regards from Mauritius!
