I've been painting for 33 years. I'm 80. I've watched countless videos and taken numerous seminars and lessons, but you sir, changed everything for me and simplified a problem I've been unhappy with for years..my people drawing. Boy, what a game changer for me. Thank you so much.
I have spend money on classes to help me paint figures, but none were as easy and simple as the one i just watched, thank you, for making it an easy adjustment. i love my figures now. thank you
John, I too, like white Ford, am an octogenarian! I’ve started watercolor painting after a 35 year absence. Boy have things changed. While exploring what my style is now, I discovered I like a loose approach. Your approach is very much like my own, but way more skilled. My problem with real media is that there is no Ctl-Z! As a long time digital artist I like the ability to step backwards and re-do. But then watercolor has a mind of it’s own that I love.
Hi John Box--love that name. I teach watercolor at the Roswell Visual Arts Center in Roswell, GA--I need to help my students get looser--I loved this video and took notes. Thank you, JillyWillyArt
Such a wonderful instructor you are and ever so talented. Thank you for this tutorial.
Thank you! I love this! Been trying to paint people and feeling a little intimidated but you make it so simple! I look forward to more videos! 🤩

You are born to be artist or artist teacher or whatever you want to be. Thank you so much for these videos❤
Gracias John. ❤❤
Karel here hi John watch your video then went an practiced. The great thing about videos is we can research. They came out o.k some better then others but when rewstched realized I wasn't darkening bottoms. Little tips really help. Thanks
I love that you use “busted” brushes. I buy supplies and paint almost never. I limit myself because I always think of regular life things I should be doing. Time to get off my butt and allow myself to do the things I want to do along with the stuff I need/should do. Love your videos
Fantastic
Great video‼️👌💪
Absolutely excellent demo
WOW! You've simplified this process so easily. Thank you. Looking forward to learning many more techniques from you. Great video demos !!!

Thank you so much.
HI John I've been using watercolour (UK) for many years mainly doing portraits and recently found your KZread channel which has really inspired me to have a go at cityscapes. Your videos and advice have been invaluable so thank you very much for sharing what you have probably taken a long while to find out by trail and error. It's generous and a huge benefit.
My grandmothers first cousin was James Hollins Patrick. He was president of the California Watercolor Society back in the 30’s. He painted in this style and I am lucky enough to have one of his originals found in my grandparents closet. This artist reminds me of his work and I immediately subscribed!

So Awesomely SIMPLISTIC! The Best Tutorial on Painting people in scenery I have Ever seen! I just learned MORE; about this than in ALL of My Decades of Art Lessons! 🖼️🎨Thanks Love! 👨🏼🎨👏🏽Perpetual Success & I just Subscribed!👑❤️🕊️

Wow. Best watercolour video I've seen in a while.
Fantastic tutorial !!! I Really needed this today. I’ve been thinking the attitude and movement people get in their in cityscape figures could only come from some mysterious knowledge you get from studying anatomy for a long time until it just becomes a cinch to distill it all in 2 brush strokes. Now I know the blob will just show you the way!!! I had to see you do that to understand. Thank You. I’ll be looking for your car tutorial next.
Just created the rear elevation of my car ...in two strokes! Clever.

This is amazing. I normally draw portraits so since I started with watercolors, I'm soooooo used to stressing over tiny details! Hard habit to break but this video is really good for me. Subscribed!

Thanks John, this was very informative.😎🇦🇺🦘🎅🏼
Where are you Joe? I miss your tutorials!
Great tutorial. I just wish your camera was closer to the painting.
This video helped me A LOT!!!! Thank you. Can you tell me what brush you are using?
Just a couple quick questions what do you prefer to paint with tubepaint or pans ? And if you use tubpaint what do you do with the leftover paint and is it reusable if it dries up?
so lets say you were putting in a cafe with several tables and chairs when would you add in the little people? before or after the scene is made? thanks
Hey, I can do that!
Gr
John my phone changed word re watch not research. Sorry
