there's also the theory that lilith was purposely keeping charlie from lucifer. as seen in the mv for "more than anything" when charlie came to lucifer's room when she was little, and shortly after lilith came to get her. then they grew even more distant when charlie grew up.

@@kosshiharaand her face was blank. Which is interesting considering we already KNOW what Lilith looks like. Normally in animation, that is symbolic in some way. It could be interpreted that she is shady and has something to hide, or she isn’t the person she once was or is manipulative and good at hiding her true nature or she’s up to something but what? She kept Lucifer and Charlie apart but why? Charlie and Lucifer have so much in common and they are both dreamers and they both thought that they didn’t want to see one another. Charlie thought her dad didn’t want to see her and Lucifer thought Charlie didn’t want to see him for all these years and that’s probably because of Lilith. I don’t know if I trust her. It just seems like something is up. We know Lucifer most likely made the deal with Adam to pardon his daughter and the hellborns since heaven doesn’t listen to him especially the exterminators and Adam. But what was the deal Lilith made with Adam if Lucifer already made the deal with him to pardon his daughter and the hellborns? She’s been chilling in heaven the entire time for seven years and people believe that since alastor was gone for seven years that it ties to Lilith and a deal between them but idk. Either Lilith is demanding Alastor to look after her daughter or it could be a sabotaging spy mission of some sort.

@@HugeRMCFanBoY-bx3od Nope. Lucifer is both the Sin of Pride and the overall king of hell as a whole. Vivzie made a chart of Hell's heirarchy once: Lucifer > Lilith and Charlie > Deadly Sins > Ars Goetia > Overlords > Sinners > Most Hellborn > Imps and Hellhounds. Lucifer is leagues above Satan.

I like how Alastor couldn't flex his power on Lucifer so in order to gain some form of superiority he uses his much closer relationship with Charlie as leverage just to spite Lucifer... man ego sure is massive

I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him.

In all fairness he was in a situation that was equally relatable as it was difficult. I mean it’s one thing to be a parent whose trying to keep their child’s dreams alive while warning them/being realistic but it’s another thing when said dream involves mass destruction with said child being the target.

I read a theory that Lucifer's shortness is an ironic design choice considering he is the embodiment of the pride sin.

Note how alastor never tried to flex his power with Lucifer…. Sure he needles and insults him, but he never tries to flex on Lucifer

Viv confirmed in a QnA that Alastor felt threatened but knew he could not take on Lucifer so he wanted to get under his skin best he can. Those two are gonna have so much beef.

He couldn't if he tried. He is powerful, for a Sinner. Stolas, and presumably other Hellborn nobility are stronger than him, the Sins, in turn, are stronger than THEM, Charlie could, if so inclined, defeat the Sins, and Lucifer is at the very top.

@@theirishviking9278thing is vivzies universe power system is the Yu Yu hakusho system in a nutshell. A single rank above one another is a major difference in power not a slight one. Especially when Vivzie confirmed that even without the grimoire Stolas is much more powerful than Alastor and he’s not even the strongest member of the goetia.

"Take that depression!!!" Best...line...ever... Lmao when I first heard it I replayed it a dozen times. This is one of my favorite episodes! The reveal on Alastor was so freaking awesome, who is pulling his strings!? Lucifer is jaded and broken from all his time being forced to see what his gift of free will to humanity caused. He is not allowed to see the good side of it. His depression is heavy and with many hints how its affected his relationships. I feel for apple Daddy. Also Nic, there is a an appearance of Alastor's demon form that is so freaking sick in ep 7 you're gonna love! I want a tshirt of it!

I don't know why I always look forward to that line!

I love how Lucifer's golden dimension looks like a big top. Fits with his ringmaster motif, which, in turn, fits with how all the Sins so far are circus themed.

I expected Lucifer to be a menacing walking daddy issues figure. But I'm happy I was wrong. Having him to be an awakward depressed short king feels more creative and unique than what I've imagined him to be.

Lucifer was one of the biggest joys in this episode!😆

My personal theory: due to the way Vaggie talks about him in the pilot, his use of "tentacles", the way he causes camera distortion when he's somewhat starting to reveal his true form, and to an extent the antlers, I don't think he's actually a demon, I think he's an eldritch god. -Nic

I find it hilarious that Lucifer the king of hell is a lovable goofball.

Fun facts time, Renegades and audience! Haha. ^^ In this episode: - As the Renegades pointed out, this episode's title is a play on the phrase "Deadbeat dad" - The scene where Charlie has seen better days and is brainstorming with the bulletin board has a few goodies. First of, yes. That whole bit is like that scene and meme from Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Charlie Day's character. Another one is Charlie makes mention of the group exercise of episode two and the trust(fall) exercises of episode three. Next, some of the red strings and thumb tacks form a pentagram. Finally, the bulletin board has things like a doodle of Anthony "Angel Dust" head on a spider body. - When Charlie crazy laughs, her demon form or at least the horns and eyes make another appearance AND, this is just me most likely, her weird laugh sounds like the laughter of Erica, Goddess of Chaos and Discord from Billy and Mandy. - Like with Alastor's "Ho deer" mug and Vox's "F--k Alastor" mug from episode two, Husk is seen drinking from a mug that says "Fuck Mondays". This is a nod with Garfield the cat's "I hate mondays" - When the scene cuts to Charlie's phone contact list, she has some of the characters like in it like Angel Dust, Frank the egg boi and the other four egg bois AND her contact list also has the names of beings from real life mythologies.

- With Lucifer and his room/workshop, it has also a few many goodies. First, Lucifer's hat and cane have an Apple on them. As the Renegades pointed out, this is a biblical nod to THE forbidden fruit. Next, there's a shot where he has a model of the rings of hell just like the Hazbin Hotel does back in episode two AND next to it are letter blocks. Those blocks are also a goodie in that the letters seen are the first initials to the first name of those from Princess Bento's Background team. Another one is Lucifer's whole deal with ducks is another biblical nod. - Portraits. Lucifer has some photos on his walls that are a lovely sight. There's a few that are family photos of him, Lilith and Charlie, these can be seen and in pristine condition on the hazbin hotel twitter. Another portrait is of a young Charlie. Next portrait has a two-in-one treat in which it has Lucifer on the right and a character called "Fredrick Von Eldrich on the left. For Lucifer, the suit he's wearing in that photo is a dead ringer for Charlie's pilot outfit...must've passed it down to her if that's the case. As for Fredrick and the Von Eldrich family, they're old characters of Vivziepop and in turn familiar to longtime fans. Again, glad to see them make an appearance into the show even if it is just some like in a portrait on the wall. Previously, a portrait of Charlie's family and the Von Eldrich family was seen for a bit in the Hazbin pilot. Speaking of, there also was a photo Charlie and Fredrick's son posed for some hell school prom. Fredrick's son is also an ex of Charlie's and...since she's now in love with Vaggie, this confirms something Vivziepop said in the past that Charlie's sexual identity is Bi. Finally, (there's a portait of)...Charlie had gone through an emo phase. Welcome to the club, Charlie. Heheh - Following the trend in the previous episodes of everyone's phone matching who they are, Lucifer's phone has a circus on it and a circus tune is his ring tone. Those things also call back to that one bit in Alastor's commercial from episode one that said, "no tacky circus decor, we promise". Later in the episode, particularly during the musical number(s), there's imagery of a circus tent and characters doing the flying trapeze. - During Charlie and Lucifer's phone call, Charlie mentions that the timespan in between their phone call back from episode one and this one is "...five months". This means there's only one month left until the next extermination happens. - "Take THAT depression", Need I say more? XD Yes. Best line, indeed, and don't worry, Renegades. That line IS being meme'd up. hehe - In the scene where Vaggie puts on her drill sergeant act on again, Nifty falls over flat on her face and Husk spills his drink on him and on the floor. - Going by that baking the cookies scene, Sir Pentious is quite the cook/chef/baker. - When looking at the background of the hotel when Lucifer arrives, and as the Renegades also gave light to, there's some nice and funny things. First, like that one bit in Alastor's commercial from episode one, there's funny doodles on the walls saying stuff like "10/10!", "We has snacks!" and such. Another bg goodie is banners, particular one says, "it's a boy" and the other saying "Wellc--, daddy". The former is just something the Hazbin crew found lying around in the hotel AND possibly a nod to the SpongeBob episode "Whale of a Birthday" in which the same thing happened. As for latter, as pointed out by the renegades, the wording of it conveys that our beloved spoods made it AND also is possibly a nod to Capcom's Resident Evil, specifically RE2(R) and the "wellcome, Leon" banner. - When Lucifer spots the hotel's bar, his reaction is somewhat similar to Vaggie's in the Hazbin Pilot AND stems from the fact he's a fallen angel. Wait a second... - During the fake laughter back and forth with Alastor and Lucifer, two things to note. One, Alastor tells Lucifer that the hotel's name was his idea. This nods back to the Hazbin pilot in which he DID name the hotel that, more so that he changed "Happy Hotel" to "Hazbin hotel". Second and most of all, that line by Alastor. When Lucifer mocks Alastor and his idea, all the latter can say back is "...ha ha! f--k you!" XD Alastor may be quite unsettling to other, but he has NEVER sworn in the show...until now. That being said, there was another instance where Alastor said curse words and that was the comic from Hazbin's early days, "The Radio Demon". - That part of "Hell's greatest dad" where Lucifer's on the throne is similar to the picture the Hazbin twitter uploaded for showcasing his (re)design. - With the part in the song where Lucifer talks about reviews, he mentions THE reviewing company "Yelp". - When Lucifer says "...Michelin tasting menu", this is a nod to the "Michelin stars" aka another real-life review company. - Another bit of the song has Lucifer talk of "sacrificial lamb", another religious/biblical nod. - During the start of Alastor's part of the song, he's dress up as a nun and has St. peter's cross on it. - Some of the visuals during Alastor's part and a particular palette for his is like ones seen in his song during the pilot. - During the quick musical instrument between Alastor and Lucifer, the latter pulls out a golden fiddle. This is a nod to "The devil went down to Georgia". - The part of the song where giant heavy books land on Charlie, their colour order is a dead ringer for the Bi pride flags colours. Fitting since the aforementioned fact of Charlie being bi. - In the part of the musical number where Lucifer talks about angelic power and family bloodlines, respectively we see him sprout wings...his ANGELIC wings, haha, and that a gold liquid is dripping from his mouth which is blood...angelic blood that is. This just shows that Lucifer's indeed a fallen angel in Hazbin. - Mimzy! She's voiced by Sarah Stilles aka the voice of Spinel of Steven Universe. Her lyrics of "hell's greatest dad" is a fourth wall jab towards the fact that, like Baxter, Hatchet and others, she's a character of Vivziepop's that longtime fans are familiar. Furthermore, Lucifer's reaction to Mimzy is also a fourth wall jab. Once again, she also made an appearance briefly in the Hazbin pilot and glad to see she also made it to the show in the end. Finally, when her back is shown on screen, she has a tattoo that is of Helluva Boss' Mammon. - It's revealed that Mimzy, Alastor, Nifty and Husk know each other. - When Anthony "Angel Dust" asks Mimzy of Alastor and their relationship between the two, she starts talking about his backstory. Some of the visuals and what Mimzy says about Alastor's backstory is similar to what was shown and what Vaggie said about Alastor in the Hazbin Pilot. By the way...! This is the second time, first being the Pilot, that our dear spider boi enquired a female who knows (about) Alastor about Alastor and the female fills the spoods in and by the end...! Anthony is left dumbfounded or something. - During Alastor and Husk's encounter, some more interesting deets and goodies are dropped. First, Husk points out that Mimzy normally shows up (to them) when in trouble and...low and behold, she is. With some loan sharks as Mimzy reveals in said later scene. Hehe, get it? Loan sharks and they literally are sharks. - Another thing that is dropped is Husk, like himself and Anthony, reveals that Alastor also so(u)ld himself, but to whom? Well, there's some theories flying around who it could be, and they sound solid. We'll just wait and see. Hehe - Speaking of Alastor, Husk and selling one's soul, we see once more about the fact Husk so(u)ld himself to Alastor and is chained up to him in turn. Val's chain towards Anthony was red, whereas Al's chain for Husk is green. - Lastly, Husk and Alastor's encounter has the latter show their demon form once. In fact...! Al shows his demon form again sometime later from this scene. - During the loan sharks' attack on Hazbin Hotel, they rip a hole through the same wall that Sir pentious had fired at back in episode two. That makes it twice in which that wall of the hotel has been a punching bag for getting wrecked and then repairing it later. - When we cut back to Anthony and Husk comically watching drama unfold with some snacks, Sir Pentious has a TV guide in his hands and Vox is on it. Ha, remember those? Good times. XD - the visuals of the musical number "more than anything" and its lyrics are somewhat like any of those musical numbers from Helluva boss of Stolas and his daughter, Octavia, young or old. Speaking of, in the flashback moment, Lucifer appears to have the same Jewel that Stolas was seen having in the Helluva Boss song "Just look my way". Annnnd, that's it. Please, feel free to add anything I missed, correct me and what have you, hehe. ^^

Fun fact: the reason alastor has so much deer imagery is theorized to be because he was mistaken for a deer and shot in the head while out burying his victims.

Technically a wendigo isn't a deer-like creature, it's more of a decrepit humanoid being. Alastor would more likely be a wechuge, a creature that actually is deer-like in appearance. The wendigo and wechuge are commonly confused with one another due to them both being cannibalistic entities.

Just know, Lucifer might be shorter than most people here, but he's still average height for a human. It's just that the sinners in Hell are freakishly tall.

5' 10" is the average male height. well in the US at least. Lucifer is 5' 5" tall.

Luzifers and Alastors Song reminds me of the Djins Song from Aladdin.

I may have the hots for Angel Dust but this season Lucifer became my favorite character. I'm hoping we learn next season how Lilith tore them apart because that's how it seems to me.

Charlie is 6 ' 6" . Lucifer is 5' 5" . He is short for modern male humans, and really short for an angel of his stature as we see in ep 6.

Most likely Alastor is bound to Lilith, since they both disappeared around the same time span. 7 years. She probably tricked him, into thinking that he was pulling the strings but she set him straight, which irritates him to an extent 😅❤️

Lillith is the common one mentioned. The other is God, essentially peace through force, using Alastor to keep people in line.

I imagine it is either lilith or roo. Roo could have owned his soul through voodoo strings and that's why he is a sinner and overlord of such power from go.
