    Hipster + Fire Arrows is a good loadout, but it in no way is good enough to carry you through x2 Hazard 6. Your skill did that.

    My idea for increasing challenge would be what I would call "worst case scenario" spawns (example: Mactera plague, regenerative bugs, on escort, in Magma zone, with vertical caves at stops).

    IMO most of the game's difficulty comes from bonus bosses/enemies like the corruptor, tyrant weed and naedocyte/swarmer breeders. As well as resource strain. Nothing worse than only finding enough nitra for one resupply throughout a whole mission.

    Maybe not a Rogue Lite mode, but I think an "infinite Deep Dive" mode would be good. Maybe combine both you and I's ideas on it.

    That would be really cool. Just see how many missions you can do in a row with increasingly less resources or something? Like, nitra spawns could scale down in further caves

    Why not both? An infinite deep dive with roguelite elements sounds cool. I'll draft up my own ideas for it. You're able to choose which biome the infinite deep dive takes place in, however the hazard level will always start at 1 and increase by 1 per stage, with a cap of 6. Each player has their own Nitra reserves and can choose to keep their supply drops to themselves. All Nitra deposited will be split between players and you will receive 50 Nitra upon completing a stage. To prevent selfishness, you won't be able to toggle self supply drops if 2 or more players don't have enough Nitra to order one. Nitra is more common than usual at first, but slowly becomes more and more scarce as you dive deeper. Every time you complete a stage, you are given an upgrade menu. You receive 3 options: a weapon/grenade upgrade, a traversal/support tool upgrade and a character upgrade. For example: Primary weapon damage / support tool reload speed / mineral capacity. Every 3 stages, you are given the choice to either return to the space rig or continue the dive. If you continue, you have to decide on either giving the enemies a permanent stat boost or adding an extra warning for the next 3 stages (this will be counted in the stage's warning pool, you aren't gonna be dealing with 2 unknown horrors or 3x damage) Players can use a currency earned from completing normal deep dives to choose neither, or permanently add an anomaly. The latter being quite expensive. Players can join infinite deep dives in progress, however they will not have any upgrades or Nitra. Between stages, you can buy health and ammo for you and your teammates with Gold. You can also buy more Bosco revives (limit of 5) If a player is left behind, they will spawn in on the next stage with half of their Nitra. Machine events, Data Cell deposits, Cargo Crates and Lost Equipment, and boss enemies (Bulk/Crassus dets, Dreadnoughts, Tyrant Weeds and Prospectors) will spawn more often as you dive deeper. If you are killed (out of revives/all players downed) your mineral rewards are unchanged, however your credits and experience are reduced by 75%. Well that's all I can think of. Feel free to add your own ideas or change mine.

    I think the way the upgrade path in a roguelike assignment would benefit from being structured like Shotgun King. You get something that's positive for you, and in exchange you give the bugs something that's positive for them. For example, you get to pick any OC of your choosing (would give low hours players the opportunity to try toys they haven't unlocked yet) for a given weapon, but every mission gets Elite Threat from now. You get Rich Atmophere on every mission, but the bugs get a permanent +10% movement speed.

    Haz 6 was always the go-to way of playing for my friend group and I before modding became official. After the group disbanded, it became hard to get haz 6 games going, especially with the new modding server rules. I always preferred haz 6 over Starship Troopers, since with Starship Troopers it just feels like it makes aoe classes way better, while classes that are good at HVT picking don't really benefit as much, while in haz 6 I like the balance they have between spawn sizes and enemy diversity. Also, I have 2.2k hours and never realized bosco could repair pipes..

    770 neurotoxin autocannon gunners in your team every time you play starship troopers sure is fun. and yeah, it's near impossible to get modded difficulty games going unless you specifically join some discord or other group for it.

    I definitely agree with your thoughts on speedrunning here. Regular speedruns don't really do it for me, but what you're doing with deep rock does appeal to me.

    Felt that death to a dumb vomit attack. I like to move up close to attack with a pickaxe power attack to save ammo before dashing back to safety. died to a speck of vomit landing on the back of my leg too many times.

    16:30 is when axis begins talking about introducing difficulty to base DRG and 17:30 roguelike mode. i've always been for custom player controlled scaling being introduced to games. while game devs should try to implement difficulty recommendations for the best feeling experience (instead of just adding % increase to health and damage, which rarely feels good (halo campaigns)), it would allow for individual and community involvement for their own enjoyment. the way they could implement this is DRG RnD department has been expanded and getting more involved in dealing with the glyphid and Rival menaces. however, they also have their own agendas and might also want to do experiments of a different kind. you'd be able to introduce mutators and anomalies to your next mission for a cost of cash and resources (and/or beer plants as you bribe them with a round of drinks). additionally you then get a series of missions teaching and showing how to work the custom difficulty sliders which you unlock at the end of the mission chain. this can be explained by RnD using viruses to try and kill/control the glyphids, only for the bugs to resist it, making new hazards like forced evolution, where there are no grunts, just slashers and guards and acid spitters for example. for the roguelike mod, they're testing a new modifiable power armor, and need you to go through several missions to fix the kinks in the armor. also maybe a good excuse for random fun things, like say where you get a modified brew that lasts the whole mission with their own modifiers, like having to play as either giant or gnome sized beers, mission designed around the beer that teleports you around and you have to rapidly mine resources before warping into another room full of enemies. or you get a heavy laser that they need you to use on certain invulnerable bugs that exist for some reason or deal with the rival menace hijacking experimental DRG tech (that will most likely try to shoot you). who knows?

    I actually like the idea of seeing an official haz 6 that's just more varied enemy presence. I'm no master, but my beard's grey enough to recognize which enemies are "on the menu" and I can relax knowing particular spawns aren't present. Perhaps, a haz 7 can take it a step further by making every enemy in the catalog able to spawn; which includes special starting spawns like Crassus Detonators, Korlok Tyrant Weed, and even Huuli Hoarders. Maybe Dreadnought swarm events are more likely to spawn, with normal fodder. Though, perhaps the consistency may make that hazard dull. A conversation of "less is more" comes to mind. Could be good for grinding though, if it's some dwarves' mug of beer. I'm not a fan of inflating stats of enemies further, since that will move weapon current breakpoints, unless that's no problem. We do have 5.5 on EDD. Though, I feel Regen and Lethal warnings already handle health and damage. The dev s talked about making Elites carry unique traits instead of being more spongy (Guards with knock back, fast Bulk, etc). Perhaps haz 6+ would apply 1-2 random warning modifiers in addition to any existing modifiers. Thus, possibly granting 3-4 warnings on one dive.

    Been watching your vids for a week or so after getting into drg. I normally play shooters that are slower pace. My mouse sensitivity is tailored to those games, but I’m finding that I can need to up my sens for drg. It made me want to ask what you personally play on. Also, thank you for being so passionately good at what you do. It’s really enjoying to watch.

    I think the only mod that, in various times and scenarios, really increases game core-mechanic difficulty it's a content randomizer. Well, in a specific, not always fair, but in a good way to stay in game and enjoy more vanila content in a different "environment".

    you talked about how this made you do whatever means necessary to win and i think thats why people like it. In vanilla haz 5 bunkering is overkill. In 6x2 it is basically needed. For those who love really hard content it makes them do things that are normally cheap or overpowered. Some people like being backed into a corner

    genuine question: why take m1000 tier 2 armor break instead of reduced recoil so shots at range don't suffer from rapid-fire spread too much? iirc you also said armor break is pretty much borked on almost all weapons anyway.

    AB is broken on AoE weapons, for m1k it USUALLY works, and it makes bodyshots (which you get a lot hipfiring) a little better on armored enemies - idk the numbers for hipster, but for vanilla m1k it famously takes 1 fewer bodyshot to kill a grunt with AB

    I only play modded difficulties with a group of friends I agree bosco does take some enjoyment from the objectives and that is why I find group modded gameplay much better than solo

    @@Astro939 Found it after some searching right after this video, but thanks for answering either way. :P Unfortunately my inner completionist has quit DRG as I discovered that it isn't 100%-able so I can't go back. I was so happy when they announced that anything you miss in the battlepass etc will be implemented into random loot drops so no one misses anything. Same with times events, the next Christmas you would get the previous Christmases stuff etc. But I just found out that anniversary items are not obtainable after it's over, meaning literally everything is available to everyone except the anniversary items if you missed them seeing as uploading content could even get you the streamer gear so yeah, just a dumb decision imo. Not that this has anything to do with your reply or the video and not that you CARE even buuuut I just had to get this off my chest to the community in a way so yeah, kinda sad as I have 99% now and loved every second of this wonderful game and community, but the OCD is too strong unfortunately. Stay safe though miner! Thanks for the help! :3

Man I was a haaaaaard core Scout main for years... Decided to try all classes to one promotion for the hell of it and discovered the magic of a maxed out engineer... Never looked back...     Am I the only one that wants a crazy mode mod where all 4 dwarves have their individual Bosco and have access to all tools for all classes but only the weapons for their class and it's like hazard 15 with all enemies from all biomes and all mutators at the same time or something... It would be PC torture but hella fun combat... For like 5 minutes but still! xD

    I did my usual ADHD thing of zoning out and getting distracted with a video playing in the background, until I heard the words "Oops All Bulks" come out of your mouth and immediately refocused. Why yes I have a problem, why do you ask? :) Most jokes aside, congratulations on the successful mission! I've tested the waters in a couple haz 6 and 7 solo missions to varying amounts of success, but in no way do I feel confident enough to take on a refining mission, with shield disruption, as scout, *and* with double enemies like you did (and a bonus tritilyte on top)!

    I feel as though it's extremely difficult to "cheese" a general modded difficulty like haz6x2, because your build will usually have to be extremely optimized for a decent chance of making it through the missions, and no matter what build you bring, there will always be weaknesses that have to be accounted for in skill. Even for something like OAB (used as an example because I have the most experience with it in particular), the only build I would consider "cheese" is gunner with dmg resistance stacking from coilgun, and even then only really due to it being a bug. Even taking 1/4 or less dmg from bulks as a build is not particularly broken, as you lose volatile bullets (the best bulk culling option) for the ability to tank an extra hit or two, resulting in you being forced to plan your movement well in advance because the dmg resist won't save you from being backed into a corner.

    On the topic of OAB, I'd highly recommend sticking to gunner or driller on non-refinery missions, as the lack of open space can lead to a hopeless situation for rj engi or special powder scout, given the lack of a reliable culling option; alternate builds are still viable if you're up for the challenge, but are significantly less consistent overall. (Driller slowdown op)

    What I dislike about playing higher difficulties in drg is that it starts to create this ugly incentive to not go after secondaries or spare resources because doing so might cost you very valuable time, at least on mission types with random swarms, you can't afford to look for fun things because you're reaching a point of skill where the game's demanding you play fast.

    Alot of haz6x2 teams that run deep dives etc just end up c4ing a wall somewhere and fighting there while the scout zips around for objectives and nitra. When the difficulty makes you do half open bunkers just to complete it, it just displaces the challenge. Instead of fighting in the open with a build you like, you go sit in a wall.

    Don't sit in the wall huh? Use terrain to make chokes etc etc, bunkering is boring I agree. It's boring because it's op yeah, but like you have a time gap where u essentially have to speedplay if you don't bunker, since h6 gives you around 3 minutes to get mission progressed
