Anthony Buscemi High school students actually design better or as good as professionals. They can see what they would identify better as a patrol vehicle and so on. Also free and a challenge for young people vs costing a fortune. Iver personally designed many of homes while in high school. even sheds that where built and used for the school itself. Then again it helped being the drafting student that knew shit and was pratical. Same teacher that done the drafting had the wood shop class to build it...

There are several LE agencies in my county. USBP being one, and used to roll in sage green trucks than they changed to white with a green stripe. The sherifs office has changed there paint schemes twice in my life time and the city cops in our three largest cities have also, at least twice changed there paint schemes. All that to say, I agree with you. Now, uniforms are a different story. Up until recently many Sheriff's deputies wore clothing similar in color to that of the gas co employees. And transport/COs of the Sheriff's department, were black polos with black pants. Many people in my state open carry. Frankly, I have more than once been mistaken for LE, howver anytime that happened, I clarified I am not a Lawmen. Oh, and some deputies were long sleeve shirts tucked into Wrangler's as do the ranchers and a lot of us blue collar folk. All that to say, I agree that folks should be familiar with there cops rides.

GUYS ..... Constables work directly for the "Court". Specifically they are "Officers of the Court". Here, as Precint 2, that guy works ONLY for the Precint 2 Judge. He serves papers, evictions etc in support of the Judge's Orders. I dont think the Criminal Courts use the Constable, it's like, the small claims or something judge. A Sheriff is an "Officer of the Law". I'd be highly surprised any Constable would issue a traffic ticket. He is a LEO, with certification and stuff but traffic tickets? They usually help in situations like traffic control, wrecks etc, basically doing favors. But pulling ppl over for traffic violations? Somwhow the Constable WHILE working for that one Judge, is also under the thumb of the county Sheriff. Constable is an elected position in Texas. It's not illegal for him to pull you over, just odd. I'd probably do the flashers and 911 call if one lit me up.

I know that in Maine for example, the State Fish and Game Wardens can and will pull people over for standard traffic violations, even though technically it's not why they're out there.

Loads of countries call their cops ''constables''. Some examples include UK, Australia, Canada and India. One thing worth noting as that all the places that refer to them as ''constables'' are all previous British Colonies. Obviously US states versions of what a Constable is varies. In some states they are Peace Officers with full powers just like any other police officer (Arkansas and Maine); but in others they have limited powers (Idaho and New York). Some states require them to be elected, some you can just apply to become one. Some constables may have jurisdiction across the entire state, some may be restricted to one town. Varies state to state.

It's a simple pyramid really. City cops are Police. County Cops are Sheriffs, If there is no city Police IN a city, the Sheriff is responsible. State Cops, assigned by county are Texas State Troopers. Somehow there is a difference in the Police Powers of a Texas State Trooper and the more common Texas-DPS. Dept of Public Safety. State-wide Cops are Texas Rangers. ----- The Constable is under the Sheriff's Office somehow, and he is elected. The Game Warden doesnt need a warrant to enter your home to search. Not sure how that plays out if he finds your meth lab while looking for deer legs and skin.

The Texas Constable is a weird role and the Texas Marshall is similar. A Constable works specifically for a County Precint Judge, he is an Officer of the Court. He is elected. Serves papers, eveiction notices etc. The Marshall is the same but I think he is hired. He also serves papers etc for the court. I think it's City Courts.

That’s why you should have a marked unit if you do traffic stops in an unmarked car. Also why MSPD (Michigan State Police Department) doesn’t allow unmarked units (for traffic stops at least) unless there’s a marked unit (though don’t believe they even have unmarked cars) that goes for towns and cities (unless it’s detective vehicles (not sure if they can run lights and sirens unless there in a big city when needed).

I'd like to use gentlemen Actual police officers and have the same authority as the police officers do. And as far as salary it should be something uncomparable to what a police officer makes but somewhat cheaper just my opinion. And this needs to be done in Portland Oregon

States like California mandate police cars can be white, black or any combo that has the doors white . In the 70's Pasadena PD had green white cop cars and the CHP made them change the color to conform with the CCR. I wonder if Texas has a similar code in their vehicle code book. Gotta admit, green is not a color for law enforcement.

The US would have to be the most "un-united" states. Even Australian states have uniformity with police car livery. Australian cops are aware of the issue people have getting pulled over by unmarked cars, even saying it's OK to drive to a police station if you believe you're tying to be stopped by a fake cop (which happens occasionally). Plain clothes Australian police display official ID when on official duty.

Its cool to see how this cop understands that unmarked cars for traffic enforcement is wrong and dangerous for the officer and the suspect. As if the suspect doesnt think it's a real cop and pulls a weapon and shit escalates. This is also why cops shouldn't wear street clothes doin traffic stops. Unless there undercover, drug stings, whatever then plain clothes and unmarked whips are acceptable but not for traffic enforcement
