When I start hauling mining equipment in and out of your dealership would like to shake your hand. Your videos have help me over the years
In my area alot of farmers and oil field part changers use these boxes. Funny watching them reorganize their tools after driving on dirt roads for 10 minutes 😂

I work on balers and swathers. Have ran wedge boxes on my light duty pickup service truck for years. Never had tools run away and get unorganized😂😂.
That is a neat box. Also prevents anyone from laying random stuff on the surface. Thus keeping keeping better organization.

The wedge is actually designed so you can pick it up and then you can hold it against your chest to easily pack it around
I used to work there before they sold out china. Wish they would’ve kept Lavern’s original design. Super smart fella. Forgot more about welding than I will ever know. A true craftsman such as yourself.
I had something like it years ago. I had a 72 Chevy pickup that had the fuel tank relocated from behind the seat. Behind the seat had a triangular tool box laid out very similar. Best truck toolbox ever...
I love your spring wrench holder
I have one of the tool boxes on the farm. I load it up and put it in my pickup every spring super handy
Have one in each of our pickup trucks. Game changer when you have field repairs
I saw a video (short) of a tech that uses 2 of the triangle tool box on a service truck to get better access to his tools. He was really sold on it and loved the way it worked for him.

You still need flat drawers for a lot of things, but it's pretty useful for most applications.
I'm stiil using the Montezuma box that I bought in 1994. Great way to see if I've put back all the tools before I leave a jobsite.
Had one on my truck for years. Awsome and water proof
We have a few Montezuma boxes, including one that is old enough it was still called a cpl box when they were made in Montezuma, Kansas.
Hose guard coil wrench holders for the win 👌
I bought one a few years ago, it s nice to throw in the back of the pickup, it is weatherproof and it was cheap.
I got one about 6 years ago to put in my truck. It has 170k of logging roads on it now and still keeps the water and dust out. I took a paint pen and marked all the metric stuff just so you know what row to be looking in. Love these boxes. I’ll get another when it comes time for a new pickup.
One of the guys i work with carries one in the back of his truck when he helps out on his friend's farm. I had no idea what it's like inside, though.
Cool triangle tool box
I have had one of the Montezuma Boxes for over 10 years and it is great to work out of. The first time I seen one was at a John Deere Dealership in Ohio about 25 years ago. The only problem I had with mine was the weight when loaded, not something easily moved from truck to truck with a forklift. Very high quality, the design has been refined over the years. Thanks for the videos.
I would love to have one of these boxes
I bought a green one from John Deere a few years back filled with their branded tools for $1500. It's the best investment I've probably ever made
I’ve had the 30x19 version of that box for about 10 years. Love it.
We bolted one to a flat bed service truck that goes out into fields to work on equipment. Works great even bouncing across rough fields. Open the top and boooom…everything is right where it’s supposed to be!
Sweet setup and that saves a lot of room. Every time I see spin on filters with the slightest sign of someone using pliers they’re coming right off no question.
Excellent design
All of the farmers and field mechanics here in Louisiana use them
Been running a montezuma box on my farm trucks for years, only way to go.
Aerodynamic!

Yes very lol
Had one since 1990. Still in use today. Probably got a million miles on it.
Short and to the point is good 👍🏻👍🏻
A buddy of mine has one of their smaller models on his service truck. Pretty handy way to store and organize tools in a limited space.
Lotta space for tools and very durable
I know a guy who only uses this style box has for years. He loves it.
Nice design. Thanks.
I once saw a diesel tech that had opened the side of his pick-up rear cab and it was a whole Monctezuma. The other side of the cab was spares and supplies. Nice set up.
Josh, we have used them for road boxes in the field on the ranch. They are great. Just a little expensive.
Pretty cool!
I have one in my service truck amazon was generous enough to send it to the bush in western ak
1st exposure was I had stopped on I15 to help someone with a flat they had one of theas (the bigger size) mounted on one side of the flat bed a bobcat welder on the other up agenst the rack ,he loved theas boxes holds 2 full sets of wrenchs. Turned out someone didn't give back his ratchet, so was a good thing I happened by doing the feel good thing and lendingwrench. This is gonna be my top Boxford the rollaway.
It's a great tool box I have one then been running it for years on the back of my truck FYI you can get it for half of the price I spent $350 at a farm store local to me around here called Atwoods
That’s nice.
My FIL has had his Montezuma box since the 70's. They're well known in ag in our area of the midwest.
Just found your channel and I love your content. I used to work for a company out of SLC that used Western States when we were up around Pocatello, you guys all are amazing mechanics. But has anyone ever told you that you look and sound like Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights? (the coach) lol. Keep up the awesome videos
Farmers and ranchers have been using these for years, John Deere even has one made with there brand on it.
I’m buying one!
Nice
Gonna get one for service van .
Very similar to the custom box's NHRA top fuel teams use between rounds Their boxes are very specific set up for each side of the engine They only have the tools they need. They use a similar one for the clutch.(an Idea that i think would work with HDT) you could have a clutch/underside as well as a brakes maintenance. The top fuel teams use the same tools over and over as they have specific tasks so they don't need the selection we need They are also in a compound pit area so they don't need to be able to lock the tools from sticky fingers. But a very similar purpose i have used both and they are great for the job at hand very good for organizing and speed
Pretty much every farm truck in Idaho/ Montana/ and North Dakota has one of those mounted on it.
If I Put Fleetgaurd filters on my Cat C15. It quits running the next day. Every damn time it just gets chocked out after 1 day. So for the last several years I use Nothing but CAT filters.
So much more room for activities 😂😂😂
I have ,I would love a 18 inch wide one to mount behind the cab on the company dump truck
Look into the MAC Macsimizer carts. I have one with the side drawers. Its the best cart Ive found
Many farmers use them...
Actually one of the other farmers down here has a set of them on his flatbed
I like Montezuma I have considered getting them on more than one occasion, but didn’t think it would be really lasting with the amount of specialty tools and large tools as a fellow, heavy equipment mechanic I’d like to see you keep posting your progress on this just for the ideas also, what kind of Roll cart. Is it that you are setting it on it almost look like a Matco or a Cornwell
Some mechanics use those as road boxes, those are water tight..
We’ve got one that’s an older design and probably 15 years old about.
I have 1 from EXTREME TOOLS and you can even buy them at any Johndeere dealer Ship
They have a secret compartment for 10mm
😎👍
What are those sockets with the snap ring in them? Stud extractors? Got a recommendation? Thanks in advanced

Yes, about that. There will be a video in the future explaining the current shortage of shop videos.
The only thing missing in that tire fire is an LP tanker. She gone... FYI, super singles are great for those tire fires and yet I see LP tankers, gasoline tankers, and more equipped with those pathetic tires. I know of at least three guys who have been fried while transporting LP with super singles; all three fried in the cabs of those trucks.
Hey man, great video as usual. I was just curious to hear your opinion on something. I am trying to decide between two trucks in almost equal shape and miles. The only difference really is one has a 2008 c13 dual turbo and the other has a 2001 c-12 which engine would you choose? Thanks
@AdeptApe
3 ай бұрын
Well a 2008 is probably an LEE C13 and I would stay away from that one. If it's a KCB serial number it's a good one. I'd go with the C12 over the LEE C13 any day of the week.

I just stopped being paranoid.
I've looked into those, but they're not so good in the shop, apparently. They're great on a pickup, and CAN be used in the shop, but not really that great. Perfect for transitioning between the service truck and the bay.
