    This is the comment I'm looking for, I've been going around telling people what is going to happen in this type of relationship because some of my friends are interested in it. There is absolutely no equality; if there is, it's one of the people pretending they are okay. Even parents have "favorite children", and in this type of relationship, you are either the "Favorite" or the "Lesser".

    Im reminded of the story of Jacob, Leah and Rachel in scripture. Leah was the older sister and described as plain looking. Rachel was the younger sister and was described as beautiful. Jacob fell in love with Rachel and worked 7 years for the sisters' dad in order to marry Rachel. When Jacob finished up his 7 years of work, he was supposed to marry Rachel, but he was tricked into marrying Leah (because the oldest daughter had to be married of first) Jacob was enraged and demanded to have Rachel as he was promised. Jacob was given Rachel as his wife, and he was married to both sisters. But it was very clear that Jacob only loved Rachel. And it was a constant battle between the sisters for Jacob's affection. They kept trying to bear more children than the other-including having their handmaids bear children for them- to outshine the other and to gain Jacob's affection. When you're in a relationship with someone, you need to be commited to them alone. because adding more people into the mix only makes things difficult and heartbreaking

    King David was a man after God's heart (check you're Bible) and he had 13 wife's and a number of concubines...(check you're Bible) I am 100% sure this is not for everyone. But if we are to use the Bible as a resource to judge anyone God has no problem with it. It is when David cheated by lying and stealing Bathsheba from one of his soldiers he got in trouble. Judging by this the main issue is lying and hiding something. These people are not doing that.

    Also remember, he worked ANOTHER seven years in order to marry Rachel (after he completed Leah's week of consummation). The man spent over fourteen years of his life to get two wives, the first of which he initially didn't want. I'm... not really sure what that adds, but I do feel like that's an important element to it. The story of these three do get quite interesting, but that's neither here nor there.

    I wish more people understood this about the Bible, especially those who have never read it, and criticize it for situations like this being in it. The Bible is more of a collection of historical records, and prophecy than it is a rule book. There are examples of all kinds of situations in it that God does not approve of for us to learn from. These situations mostly shows us that doing things our own way and not God's way doesn't work out well. A good example that a lot of people like to bring up is Lot and his daughters. They did not trust in God and decided to take things into their own hands to continue their lineage, which resulted in incest, the Moabites and the Ammonites descended from their children. Both of these groups worshipped idols, participated in ritual sacrifice and sexual immorality. Man is very bad at being in charge of itself.

    I’ve been in a polyamorous relationship before and its really not all sold out as it is. The whole “I don’t want to be cheated on so I’m going to be poly” is not polyamory. It’s just knowingly cheating. Polyamory is still committing to a relationship but with multiple people. However most people just are not capable of doing it because of jealousy and it just really doesn’t work. Cause at the end of the day people just use it as a way to avoid problems and doing it as “Well you can’t fulfill all my needs so im going to find another man who can” or “I can’t deal with you right now so im gonna be with my other man” like it just breeds instability

  • @fireblade295

    @fireblade295

    EXACTLY. Polyandry is never a thing that will work, because men are hardwired to view another man as a threat to his relationship. A child between Man A and the woman will instill hate, loathe, and resentment in Man B. Its why Other Life was so horrible. While Woman A has a child with the man, Woman B would help raise it or fill in for Woman A until Woman A can resume duties. Adding in kink, it just makes it better.

    There is no love in these "relationships" and you will not convince me otherwise. They are based purely on infatuation and lust. A woman I graduated high school with is in a "polyamorous relationship" with multiple men and women, she is raising her son around this dynamic after the father dumped her a year after she had the child. I can only imagine what type of confused adolescent this boy will grow up to be. Seeing his mother in and out of relationships with different people on a yearly basis. No stability. Because human beings are monogamous creatures by default. We feel jealousy for a reason. If you can watch the person you claim to love be involved romantically or sexually with another person, there is something wired wrong in your head.

    The only correct response to being propositioned for an "open relationship" is to break up..."Open relationships" don't work, these "poly" people can claim they're happy with it all they want, I don't buy it. Jealousy is one of the most deeply ingrained human emotions, once you pair up with a partner, you feel a sense of "ownership".... .... (I don't mean that in a negative sense, that sense of "ownership" is why you feel betrayed when you get cheated on) over that partner and jealousy will inevitably rise to the surface no matter how much cognitive dissonance you use in attempt to "override" it. It's worse on men than it is for women, it's men's natural instincts to guard his wife/gf. Men are almost always miserable in "open relationships", it is nearly 100% guaranteed to end in disaster, it's just a matter of how long it takes.

She was in her 30's and he was 19 when they got married, and he wanted to commit to her, but also be able to sleep around because he felt like he 'missed out' on a lot of experiences by marrying young. I knew she was married when I started dating her, but she tried to make it sound like they had both agreed to have an open relationship. As I spent more time with her, it was clear that she did not like the situation her husband put her in, and she only liked me because she felt like I made her husband jealous. It even got to a point where she invited me to live with them, as they were moving into a new house soon. That weirded me out, and I broke up with her a few weeks later. 0/10, would not recommend polyamorous to anyone.

    Both women are extremely codependent. They're body language says they do not like each other. Rosa has pretty much convinced herself she actually is happy even though she does not like the other one. Who's name escapes me because I was laughing at her the whole time. She HATES it but for some reason she really doesn't believe she deserves better. He must have done a number on her mind. The ONLY she stays is because her mother is okay with it. But I can also tell her mother knows SHE F'd up raising her so she feels like she has to accept it. There's something dark in her past. I'm willing to bet past sexual abuse at young age. He treated her better than she thought she deserved... then she found out he was f'ing lying pos... and I think it was the blow that broke her. She needs serious therapy. Rosa too but Rosa seems like most young girls her age... planned parenthood and 3rd wave feminism told her this way to be a woman and since she was young... she was too ignorant to know to push back. Its crazy but Millennials were sold on orgies and throuples in school so a lot of them see nothing wrong with it. And yes it is VERY SAD because they will NEVER learn true value. They will NEVER feel the support of a dedicated relationship. But that's what i noticed in body language, word choices and cadence. I'm also trained in psychology so I thought it would come handy to be able to read body language. You should look into it. Interpersonal communications. You'd love it and you're a natural. Great natural instincts makes it easier and more fun. I love being human lie detector, that part came in super handy with my son and his friends. Lol 😁 I'm not perfect but its an imperfect art. There's always an exception but your instincts are strong so you will excel. And you'll be glad when you have kids. Lol 😁

    I grew up in a Midwest town where a whole subset of the community were polygamist. Each man had at least 2 "wives", with the average being 3-4. And I say "wives", because in the US, you cannot legally have more than one wife. So the man would legally marry the first wife, and the rest were just glorified mistresses. One thing that I hated about the community is that even if there wasn't obvious jealousy amoung the wives, the men almost always picked a favorite wife, and she got the nicest house, the most money, and the most time with him. And all the other wives usually had to get a part time job just to afford groceries. It was also weird because nearly everyone in this community was related to everyone, either by blood or by marriage. There were two kids(who were the same age) that my brother played baseball with that on their father's side they were uncle and nephew, and on their mothers side they were cousins. So weird!

    2 Timothy 3 Verses 1-9 English Standard Version But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of Godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres approached Moses, so these men also oppose truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men... WAKE UP PEOPLE, SEEK THE LORD, WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS... THIS IS THE GENERATION THAT GOD SAID THAT SHALL NOT PASS...

    One of the most important fears to confront while you’re young is the fear of being alone. The moment you can appreciate solitude, be comfortable with just yourself on a Saturday night; you will greatly diminish that NEED to have someone. It’s not incel behavior. It’s respecting & valuing yourself; building within yourself that when you date…you won’t do what these young ladies have done to themselves. He’s only doing what they have allowed him to get away with. He’s going to want a third one day. Ughhhhh I just saw the cross on his arm. Ughhh now I’m even more irritated with him. This is not incel behavior. This is the behavior of a strong independent feminist. They convince themselves that they do not need anyone and they are happy on their own. But by the mid-thirties, reality catches up with them. And they record teary TieToks about how unhappy they really are when they're alone and how they need a man. But it's' too late.

    I guess if other people are into it, go for it, but for me, it's a big hell no. I hate the argument a lot of them make that it's selfish to be in a monogamous relationship because you're forcing someone to only be with you. Who says it's forced? Maybe not everyone wants to sleep with people other than their partner. I genuinely do not become sexually attracted to anyone once I'm committed.

He admitted that he couldn't even see where he was shooting because the burglars were hiding behind his car and admitted that he had his eyes closed. He hit a neighboring house. Knowing what is behind what you are shooting is Gun Safety 101. Shooting at them was not the right course of action. While he did not shoot first, he did create the situation. That all said, the police still should be putting more effort into finding the burglars since they obviously shouldn't be on the streets. But it is Memphis, so they'll be out by lunch and a leftist DA will get their weapons charges dropped because apparently that's the best way to combat gun violence.
