Have You Earned Your Tomorrow? - Edgar Guest (Inspirational Life Poetry)

Read by Shane Morris
This video aims to bring the poem "Keep Going" of Edgar Albert Guest, to life. Edgar Albert Guest was an American poet who became known as the People's Poet. His poems often had an inspirational and optimistic view of everyday life.
"Have You Earned Your Tomorrow?" is a reflective poem by Edgar Guest that encourages readers to consider their actions and interactions with others throughout the day.
The poem in this video is narrated by Shane Morris (an award winning voice actor). We took care to edit the audio as perfectly as we can.
We believe that there is wisdom in these historic texts. We are very hesitant in creating video's with different moving backgrounds, because we believe it might contradict the wisdom that is displayed in the text. We hope you appreciate the effort!

Hello. If you can make a video on any of my poem, it would be great. Most of my poems are about faith, hope and motivation. Regards

A Worthy Life Did the time rush through leaving you gasping for breath? Or did languid hours go on till dusk without much? Did you reach out to someone with a human touch? Or was it just another hushed day towards death? Did you share a smile with people along the way? Will someone remember your helping hand in strife And thus, pray for you to have the best things in life? Did your kindness mean the world to someone today? ©️ Satyananda Sarangi

When you live in another country as a foreigner and don't know anyone, sometimes days go by without the opportunity to be kind to others, to see them and help them. You cannot help others because you yourself are trying to 'float'. When you count a lot of days, you wonder if it makes sense to live without all those "ordinary things" sincere smiles and grateful faces that you left at home and went further into the world chasing new goals. Then one realizes the value of all the things mentioned in the poem.

This poem makes me think of something I read once. Talking about the “tomorrow man.” Stating a tomorrow man is a person that makes themselves and the people around them better for tomorrow. Be it working out and helping those that need it. I think that message and that poem is powerful if internalized. Why not live today how you wish you lived yesterday?

I love the connection to modern day. We might walk by someone and say hello but was it a real hello or formality. We don’t stop during the day until the end of the day, which seems like a cycle of nothing. You can judge a persons impact and connection by how many are present at celebrations such as a wedding or funeral. I’m sure some will say different but on the most important and emotional days…who’s there. Who really connected with you?

Hello dear Lady, If you are asking about the author of this poem, Edgar Guest, he wrote many inspirational poems in the early to mid 1900s in the USA. Other poems of his are good for a laugh as well. "Life is what we make of it" is wonderful. But the narration needs to be less grave and more filled with joy. I've found Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In him, we receive an unquenchable life as we grow. God rejoices to do good to us. Jesus said, "It is better to give than to receive." Why? Because we are living out of God's heart and soul as we do it. It is a sinless harmony of love!
