Yeah I think It was after he was sort of exposed by his ex Girlfriend too..I've tried to find the evidence about the story that he had slept with a prostitute back in 1994 but haven't found anything except an excerpt from Chris Morris music show which he talked about it.

@@abitmoredeayton sure it involved prostitutes and drugs, think it was cocaine. My memory on the matter isn’t as sharp anymore but this was huge. I still don’t think they should have replaced him but their hand was forced

@@1970kingbob He was caught with prostitute in 1994 and 2002..not sure if the 1994 one was true or not but 2002 is surely as true as ever..I supposed that no one cares at the time in 1994 so he wasn't in big trouble as he was in 2002

@@abitmoredeaytonHave I Got News For You S08E01 - Martin Clunes & James Pickles 0958am 20.4.22 indeed.. yer dead set on doin a man down for allegedly doin something with a woman of the horizontal persuasion... i dont think it matters at all... so why? exposed by his ex girlfriend? if he was merely awash with whores then i doubt he'd have had time for a real girlfriend. i'd love to know what she said about him, then? hint hint... all the blokes in the world beset with brow beating dolts now demand to note what it was the ex said about them...
