    +Elliot Payne thanks buddy. The Soprano is in Bb so it's the same as a tenor but an octave higher.

    Hey Pedro! I have been playing the alto saxophone for about a year + now. I want to get a soprano sax but I'm scared that this is a too high end for me. My question is that would u recommend a intermediate player this saxophone or a lower end? P.s. If u think I should get a lower end could u recommend a model? Thanks

    +Joshua Kong if you've been playing for a year only I'd recommend playing for at least 2 before you move to a new one. That said, I don't know how advanced you might be. If you're looking to switch from alto to something else, tenor is an easier option. I personally like the System 76 from P Mauriat. Any of the models from P Mauriat will be great for you. Go to a music store that has some of them and see what you think. You can also try them through a large online store like Woodwind and Brasswind. They have a trial program so you can try and if you want to try another one then just send the first one back. Good luck and let me know what you end up doing.

    Music By Pedro thanks for the advice. But, there's a few problems. 1) I am a small 13 year old Asian boy so playing on a tenor is going to be very heavy and tiring. 2) I think I have told u this before in 1 of ur last videos, I come from a small country called Malaysia. In the music stores here we don't get a lot of choices of saxophone models to try out. 3) Woodwinds and brasswinds don't ship to my country so I can't try out the trial programme. I know that playing tenor is easier but I think in the end I will still get a soprano because I like the higher pitch sound compared to the lower pitch, but will most probably get it next year. Thanks so much for ur time and advice.

    Its really difficult to keep track of so many awesome people that message me. If that is the case, then I'd go with a P Mauriat Soprano. Perhaps the Le Bravo or the 601 would be up your alley. Let me know if you have any questions. pmauriatmusic.com/en/products/items/2-soprano

    Jose Manuel the most notable difference is o e is curved making it more compact but there is also a slight sound difference. I prefer the straight one because it looks better and I like the sound of it

    Hey Pedro! So I'm a fantastic clarinet player going into high school next year, and I thought I might try an additional instrument. I wanted to do soprano sax, but my private lesson teacher wants me to stay on alto then move to another type of sax or just stay on alto. I love the soprano sax, but it is given to the 1st chair (best sax) in the band. Well starting almost 3 years behind the rest, is it possible considering I can already play my clarinet very well? Please reply and give me your thoughts. (I want to find out what type of sax that sounds amazing!)

  • @musicbypedro

    +Bodhizilla while there are some similarities between clarinet and Soprano, the Soprano has a lot more back pressure and intonation is more difficult to maintain in a soprano. I'd suggest playing Alto for a year then trying Soprano after that.

    Why did you replace the other soprano that you just recently got, in the last year or two if I remember the video. It seemed to be a little brighter to me but not too bright. The P. Mauriat is a little too Dark for my liking

  • @musicbypedro

    @musicbypedro

    7 жыл бұрын

    I replaced it because there were some serious intonation issues with the old one. I had to change my embouchure to get some notes in tune and made it very difficult. One of my favorite things about the PM horns is their intonation, so your horn is more in tune, and I can focus on making music...
