Havanese Dogs Breed Guide | Dogs 101 - Havanese Dog

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Hi fellow dog lover!🐶 My dog Billie had so many behavior problems… she was jumping, peeing inappropriately, overly aggressive, pulling on the leash… she was just crazy…🤪 Then I found this one solution that stopped all the problems!🙌 The sad fact was…The training I first tried with my dog was a complete fai...lure.😔 I went through the average cookie-cutter training programs. These programs used outdated and ‘mean’ dominance techniques. It turns out those programs had no qualifications and were developed by complete phonies.😱 So this is what I did to stop my dog’s behavior problems... In a few simple words… I discovered my dog’s hidden intelligence!🧠
Let me explain… In my years as a dog owner…this is the one big lesson I have learned. More intelligent dogs are better behaved.👍 A more intelligent dog takes commands easier…and understands what you need from them. What I found out was… No matter how clever I thought my dog was. I could still unlock my dog’s hidden intelligence quickly and easily!😄 Don’t waste a second longer putting up with your dog's behavior problem! I’ll explain everything you need to know in the link!😁

Still very happy and loves to romp around. How blessed I am to have been gifted these wonderful animals in my life.

My white male Havanese, named Finn, is 9 and he's the best dog! I've had him since 4 mo's. So loving and playful! Easy to potty train. He's kennel trained, but I'm retired so he just goes an naps in there when he wants. Havanese are smart. They do not like to be left alone. Truly Velcro dogs. Mine is food possessive around other dogs.. a negative. Wonderful with my 3 yr old grandchild! He steals my socks and buries them outside! If I catch him with one in his mouth, I tell him he can't have that and he puts it gently down. If he gets ahold of Kleenex he will NOT put it down. He absolutely loves to run after a squeaky toy. I love him completely!! He doesn't bark at other dogs at all when we take walks. Havanese are THE BEST!

Mr. Cooper is about to turn 4 years old. He’s the best little dog. I’ve had him when he was a newborn puppy. He loves being around my dad since my dad always feeds him and always sits near our window and couch to scape out the front of intruders or guests. Big barker when someone comes home or someone arrives. He has a morning routine of scratching my door and sleeping with me before I wake up🤣 most beautiful cute little dog ever and he’s white with black spots.

I have little mister Winston Furchill, he’s almost 6 months old and incredibly smart. He was the one who began playing fetch and giving me the thing to throw for him to get. I wrapped him all up totally in a blanket and made it hard for him to get out just to see how smart he is. He got out of it in 1 minute. He’s gorgeous and looks like a brown teddy bear. He’s slim trim and is so much fun. I cannot put his leash on him he runs and hides, but if he gives me the leash he’s ready to go for his potty walks. I buy him puzzle games with tiny treats in them and it takes him mere seconds to figure them out.

He said they have found that if the the dog goes through their first heat ... it’s medically beneficial, and beneficial for their joints ... so, it’s worked out .. for us .. I highly recommend this breed of dog .. they are very trainable .. and intelligent, Very loving .. not barkers , only when they deem it necessary.. They are very active , love to play fetch. My little girl loves to ride around the house pushed in her stroller - after she had been sick and was on the mend, she would lead me around the house using the same path, walking …stopping, looking back, to see if I was coming…and continue - night after night. She also does this when she wants to go to bed - she looks back at me, waiting for me to follow her to her kennel and tuck her in bed. Oh, so sweet! 💕

Never have liked small dogs.. until my best friend Eddie came into my life. I found a dirty matted haired little white dog. While trying to find his owner my girlfriend at the time spilled a beer, I called the dogs over to lick it up. But when the little white dog smelled the beer he instantly ran to the corner started shaking and urinating on himself. That sealed the deal. I would no longer be trying to find his owner and now he is my dog. I do not drink alcohol so he will never have to smell beer again. I ended up getting him groomed micro chipped vaccinated and registered. He has so far been the best dog I’ve ever had and I love him more than anything in the world. I take him everywhere I go besides work and he never is on a leash. He will never runoff and always stays next to my side off leash. I just wish that he like to play with toys and balls but instead all he wants is me to be holding him or touching him and he is happy. Is it by far the best breed dog ever.

Our havanese gives us laughs all day every day....she goes everywhere with us ...riding in my wifes lap on her wheelchair....she loves everyone...only time dhe barks is when she wants her toy that got stuck or sees her dog friends and wants to go play with them. She takes turns sleeping on us at night. Snuggles right up to us and makes sure all is well. She never jumps out of my wifes lap while we are out ( gets excited and has fallen a couple times but never jumps off). She never begs for food and always lets us know when she needs ...out, food, drink, toy etc. When something falls off my wifes I lap or a ring falls off her finger onto the floor , she will give it to us ....never had to teach her that , she just started doing it on her own !!! By far the greatest , smartest and most loving dog we've ever had.

After making sure he is getting enough 'daily attention' (walks, grooming, sitting on your lap, playing in the yard) I would consider 'dog training' lessons as it sounds like he is trying to be dominant in the home (too many treats perhaps?). Growling at your nieces and nephews is not a good sign (particularly for a Bichon Havanais), there is also (in addition to dog training / domination issues) also the possibility that there is a medical problem such as eye problems, tooth pain, or persistent injury, so perhaps a quick visit to the vet is in order? Best of luck!

I have a 3-year-old female named Chica. While visiting my niece, I caught her grandchildren teasing her when she was out of my sight. She barked and growled at them and finally chased and nipped at them - so out of character! She hated being around kids after that and I was afraid she would bite one of them! Now I am constantly working on socializing her with quiet, well-behaved kids and she’s doing much, much better. For a sudden behavior change, I’d start by keeping a close eye on the kids just to make sure they are behaving appropriately.

Ahem, $200-$300 a year?! Uh, no. I spend easily $50 a month on quality food and treats, alone, for my Havi. I invested about $600 in grooming equipment and supplies to do my own grooming but will go to groomer, occasionally. Groom and tip, about $40, have a great groomer! I know others charge a lot more. Vet bills just for neutering and puppy plan that included shots and meds exceeded $300. Then there's leashes, harnesses, tags, and other equipment like carriers and I invested in a stroller which has been so handy on hot days, long walks and getting him into place he wouldn't readily be able to enter. The cost of chipping if lost, life preserver, foul weather gear, as all their hair is for insulation from heat, not cold. They are a tropical breed , thus sensitive to cold. Realistically, all total, per year, provided no sickness or accidents $700-$1000 a year. So well worth it for what they give in return...they're priceless in that respect! And yes, my profile pic is him!

In my defense, a lot of the $170 was for things that were "buy once", like a life jacket, leashes, harnesses, etc...

I never know where they get those cost quotes. I always spend way more- doesn't matter what the subject is. Your estimate is much more realistic.

Stop being lazy...treat your dog right....brush your dog and bathe them and once every 3 to 4 months is more than enough with a groomer. I only pay maximum of $40 for full groom....bath , nails, trim etc.

Dr Phil. Being good, is good. Being too good, like you’ve done for this spoiled druggie, is NO GOOD. Where is her success from ALL that you’ve done? You are part of the problem, when nothing that you’ve done has given her measurable, tangible results. You mean well, but you aren’t showing those of us that follow you that you’re participation is WASTED on this brat !
