Burnt timber makes my wood burning life experience unbelievably easier. So fortunate.

great point about having to heat everything up. my basement remains at about 58. when i start the fire downstairs, it takes about 24 hours or so for it to come up to temp. Blaze King makes some really efficient stoves. nice that you have standing dead wood to cut. makes it a little easier not having to wait till it dries. love your new snow machine. thanks for sharing.

Always said that I need a bigger sleigh. Them skandic can haul an awesome load on a pack trail. Sure you could hook up another two sleighs behind them two. Keep on cutting and enjoy the outdoors. Thanks for taking the time to share this and all the videos. Have a great week Wood Chuck.

That baloney sandwich looks like an absolute masterpiece, especially cooked over an open grill. That was a well explained description of why it takes so long for a wood stove to warm up my cabin or shed for those that are not familiar with heating. I think I will just direct them to this video for their enlightenment. I will use it as a second opinion, "if you don't believe me, check with Chuck, he chucks wood all the time". I think we all get teased with name calling sometime in life. My two favorites are "Ralphie, you're going to shoot your eye out" and your buddies calling out your name in the morning from the bathroom who indulged too much from the night before. Hi Chuck! Your dogs are so well behaved. And it's so obvious that they love riding on the skidoo. That was a real nice load of wood. I agree, get the wood home as quickly as possible , it can be delt with anytime once it's in your yard. The race against the melt. Lol.

Hi Chuck I bet it is disappointing to not have snow for your trip, but I was just thinking about how much I was looking forward to riding along with you from my arm chair. Wishing I could put some more miles on my expedition only only put 220 miles on it this winter but it’s Al ok. Great video I already told you in the fall we bought the same exact stove it’s April it’s unbelievable I think we burned less than 4 cord are only heat source Timber frame home with foam panels on outside its 36x40 keeps it at 70 plus depending on setting thanks again

There's a load and a half buddy. No problem for the SWT, I wouldn't say. Your mileage will get better when she's broke in. Having some fried bologna and eggs as we speak. Mm mm mm mm mm I bet you'd go through 8 or 9 cord if you didn't have that stove. I'm getting a Sirocco 20 for the house this year. Can hardly wait. Question: did you trim your snow flap? I was thinking about trimming mine off, it gets pulled under the track sometimes in deeper snow.

Yes we do. And I do cut some occasionally. This burnt spruce is just so much simpler as the branches are singed/burnt off and there’s no need for seasoning. I also burn tamarack. Close to birch in its heat output

Are you referring to the hitch in the back of my sleigh? If so, yes, I simply attached it myself. It’s basically a door hinge bolted on to another plate inside the sleigh

Back in 72 we landed in Goose Bay on our way home from Germany and we were told it was 62 below zero. It was Dec 23. Does it get that cold or were they just jerking our chain. It was cold though.

I’ve not experienced it that cold, or, at least not that I can recall in my time in Labrador (30 years). However, it has been recorded officially even colder that that. Climate change has warmed things up considerably. I notice a huge difference even in the three decades I’ve been here. The coldest BASE temp I’ve seen is -44 C, and wind chill in the high -50’s

That is spruce I’m cutting there. I also burn birch and tamarack. But I only burn that when it’s really cold outside as it’s a much hotter burning wood.

Hmmmm not that I’m aware of.

You need to keep a "log" of all these "dry" jokes. I have a question that I'm sure you may have already touched on and the way my brain works I may have already asked you. Why is a permit required for burn over and dead fall? Its only 25 bucks so it's not like it's a big deal I just wondered and have heard many others ask too.

Yes we get asked this multiple times each year - almost as much as I’ve heard the wood chuck joke lol - a permit is like a hunting licence - even if you shoot one bird you need to get one - even tho shooting that one bird means absolutely nothing in the big pic. Maybe it part of the overall tracking scheme to see if there’s a manageable amount of cutting, hunting etc. I know we are actually one of the lucky provinces. Most won’t even issue permits to the public. I’m hoping they come out with an exception so that everyone named Chuck should get their permit free just because of all the Wood Chuck chimes they have to bear all of their lives 😂😂
