I was hauling sand in East New Mexico. Too many trucks not enough wells. Getting paid 30% ,can only do 2 runs per day sometimes one . Driving to one well with 40 trucks in staging and about 5 at wells. Takes forever to do a run , after doing the math I was making around $14 per hour, after a couple of weeks I quit. I can do much better hauling hazmat freight.

I tried applying with Halliburton this past February. Got a “no thanks” for my effort. I was told that if you were above room temperature, they’d hire you; they were waiving the one-year driving time requirement. They rejected me. Such is life.

Yeah Halliburton is kinda hard to get In unless you know someone, I’d say try Pro Petro or Nextier.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm in a TX oilfield driving flat bed. I'm training on wench truck tomorrow. I'm just an hour east of Austin. I had class A job hauling construction equipment making $1900 a week but they crashed the last 3 months. I have X endorsement,CDL A no restrictions. I'm thinking if this job doesn't work out in the next 6 months or less I'm thinking about heading to your part of TX.

Guys that haul hazmat like oil and stuff out there and up in the bakken make good ass money but you put up with more shit regulations wise

I paused 5:00 "20 hour days" No way!!! I would be dead from crashing.

Would you consider mesquite well service to be a solid company with consistent or is it a rocky situation at times do they still have a lot of work

You can talk smack about sandhaulers but only bottom drops and sand boxers. I hate those guys lol cheap rate haulers

Im in west texas doing hopper bottom with a certain company and it’s SLOW im currently waiting 9hrs today for a load I’ve only done 10 loads in 7 days company has 200 drivers only 2 wells I came from across the country based on promises from the recruiter they totally screwed me

Thats why nobody wants to do hopper work. Its always like that , you barely do 2 load a day , that if you dont stop to eat or take a shower. Box chassis work like 5F used to be good , not anymore they paying around 80 bucks a load . Sandhauling is done .... Time to move to waterhauling
