It was Hatice's decision. After all, the divorce at that era and especially when was a Grand Vizier, it was not possible, especially if he was married with a Sultana. Syleiman told Hatice to make a decision about Ibrahim and Hatice had the best decision about their marriage with Ibrahim.

Once she joined the harem and Mahidevran came everything went down hill. The true Snake is pride and disloyalty. And who has the most pride??? Who’s disloyal??? Mahidevran, Ibrahim, Valide, Sah, Fatma and even Hatice all at one point visioned someone else on the throne other than Sultan Suleiman while he was still living. They all considered the supreme ruler to be cursed and not know his own heart. They showed favoritism supported Mustafa when they were other princes. As I said previously in another comment, Hurrem never bewared to who she is speaking. This slap deserved her. She made Hatice mad and never she should speak ill to another Sultana. If Hurrem was a true Princess, then she shouldn't be disrespectful to another Princess. She hadn't a common person opposite her, this was Hatice Sultana, Sultan Syleiman's sister. She could lose her children by talking back to Hatice, but Syleiman's blindness concerning Hurrem preventing this matter. After these all episodes which I had seen from the beginning, now I can see why Hurrem had all this humiliation, all this suffering. That's why she lost her children one by one. She lost them and she bore all this suffering all these years, because of her own ego. It was her arrogance, greed and egoism, which had driven Hurrem to bare all these sufferings and this arrogance had driven her to death.

One of the things I hated most about this show's direction, was that they made young Hürrem a complete psychopath. Hürrem literally means 'cheerful' and yet at every instance, they make her act like a buffoon who screams ALL THE TIME. Vahide Hürrem is much more regal and I prefer her over Meryem every day over the week

Ibrahim fought Hurrem all these years. If Hurrem was strong enough, then she had defeated him many years ago. He didn't lose his position, because just like he said to Hurrem "there are many Sultanas, but there is only one Grand-Vizier. The pigeon can't get along with eagle. Because pigeon is inferior that the eagle". Otherwise if Hurrem was the eagle, she would eliminate Ibrahim many years ago, same with Prince Mustafa. So it seems that Hurrem was always the pigeon and Ibrahim was the eagle and he could hurt the pigeon whenever he wanted to. But he didn't do this, because he was thinking of Syleiman's happiness, because after her betrayal to Syleiman (the illegal relationship of Hurrem with Leo the artist), Syleiman wouldn't forgive her, he would order to take away Hurrem's children. That's why Ibrahim didn't tell anything to Syleiman about this and about Hurrem in general. And then, I realised that the main difference between Ibrahim and Hurrem, was that Ibrahim was thinking of his friend's happiness and Hurrem was thinking of the state matters. But, at that era, women hadn't the right to occupy themselves with the state matters, this was job for men.

Hurrem deserved that slap, because always she forgots to who people she is speaking. And all the sufferings she bore, had happened, because she deserved them. Because according to her behaviour, these bad things had happened to her. Because of her arrogance, she experienced all this suffering, all this humiliation, all this threats and punishments. She bore punishments, because she never was bound the head and follow them. That's why she lost her children one by one. And maybe Mehmet didn't understand that his mother was evil, arrogant and greedy, but Beyazid did, althought he had an alliance at the years to come. When I saw these episodes, I understood why Hurrem experienced all these sufferings. It was all because of her ego. But evil people get their punishment too.
