Great looking dog , good work in training I also have an akita inu female she had just, became aware of her personal space .we lived in condominions until this year when we moved in the countryside. She is 6 years old and begun to bark at any move she sees especially at nighttime. In any other situation she s very kind with people and cats. With, dogs is a different story, she s unpredictable like all akita s

I heard you shouldnt train akitas to attack because they become unpredictable, and naturally have a strong protection instinct without training?

where did you find an Akita with the proper drives for protection work?

  • @JustnNDTrollSniper

They all have the proper drives for protection, they were bred to guard royalty. The issue with doing sport or police work with an Akita is their independent nature, not their drives. They tend to think for themselves, making it difficult to train them for situational guarding
