EASY OBEDIENCE TRAINING WITH MY BELGIAN MALINOIS PUPPY! HEEL/ SIT/ DOWN/ STAY!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

In this session I run my Belgian Malinois through basic obedience commands; Heel, Sit, Down, Stay! I show all training equipment and rewards used as well as many different training techniques and approaches. 'Working" a dog does not mean physically exercising them, but rather making them use their brain to control their body for various exercises and tasks. A session like this puts SO much value in me and 'puts money in the bank' when it comes to bonding with my dog. This is much more special than launching a ball for a half hour!
I will answer all questions left in the comments! We're almost at 10K LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!

I love his show and thisjust summarizes and lays out all of the basic methods he uses on the show. What i love about this guide kzread.infoUgkxKkYeOoCV_w2vPX0CSyVWkhew2c4FYk0d is that you don' need to read the whole book cover to cover ... You can skip to the chapter (lesson) you want to read about. The book is arranged almost as a problem-solving guide ... Here is the problem and here is what you need to know/do to correct it. This man knows his stuff ... But more importantly knows how to teach people how they can work with their pups themselves!

The fact that this dog loves to go into the collars and is wagging his tail during this training is living proof that this trainer is not abusing this dog with these training tools/devices. Did you see any misuse? Intelligent dogs love good training and strive to please with good training. This dog loves this stuff! I use a Martingale collar to keep my dog from pulling at the heel and/or bolting from the heel. My dog loves a good walk and some training and then finishing the walk. Then he likes to come home and play games like fetch and tug. Thanks for the video!

@Waya Wolf shooting sports I’ve found over the years that people who ‘dislike’ the Ecollar often form that opinion from an emotional standpoint. It’s never based on matter of fact evidence and they never have any real experience with the tool. I’ve personally converted hundreds of clients that were on the fence and they have all thanked me! 🙏🏼

I stumbled upon this by accident, but amazing to see how well trained your dog is. We had a malinois ' mechelse herder' when I was a kid. He was roaming around the stables behind our house. after a couple of days he decided to follow us and run into our garage door, on christmas eve. He was a young dog, estimated like 7 or 8 months at that time. I remember my father calling the police to report a lost animal and they promised they would pick him up the next day. He was super friendly and as we didn't have any dogfood in the house my sister and i fed him dry ' soldatenkoeken' which translates to soldier cookies. I'm so glad police never came to get him because he became part of the family and was always there for us. We later learned he was probably kicked out by a breeder who lived in the town next to ours because he was to kind for attack orders. However he never failed to guard the house, chasing of burglars twice and defended my sister once when she was harrased by some drunk bikers at a bar near our neighbourhood. I really loved that dog, it's been almost 20 years since he passed away and I still remember him vividly. A friend, a family member and the most loyal being you could imagine. Gypsy, you will always be in our hearts !

Oh man, I feel you... I used to have a "mechelse herder" as well in our friendly dutch town where I used to live :-) Fantastic animal, my best buddy and friend. We got the dog when I was 5-6 years old, the dog was around 2 years old at the time. I grew up with her, I have no siblings and she was my best friend until she was over 16 years old (I was 21/22 or something) and passed away. Active until her late senior years. I have been heart broken for such a long time and still miss that dog 15 years later. We could do anything with that dog. We did all sorts of training activities, my parents used to go to the forest with that dog 3 times a day (and I joined as often as possible too), she never needed a leash either and would simply listen on great distances. It was more to comfort other humans that sometimes we would put her on a leash. It was an absolute delight to grow up with such a special animal with so much character.

Loved this video! How would you handle a very strong, hyper, untrained adult Belgium Malinois who constantly pulls and tries to chase cars, birds, and squirrels, during walks???? He is very smart and sweet and will sit and stay, in the house, for short periods of time, for a treat. He loves people and other dogs, (except for one dog that initiated a fight with him and a few known petty thieves in the community, who he barks at, nonstop and tries to chase, when he sees them, because I believe they stole some things from our yard, before.)

Mcmillian is incredible! We watch his show lucky dog and can't believe what a selfless helping person he is. The book kzread.infoUgkxfKlzfzw0sMZ_RgZNzMeOPu6d4b5i5XWl has his training methods from both the show and new tricks i had not heard until i got the book. Simple dog psychology and pointers to make the methods stick. Great insight to the thinking of dogs. There is so much more we know now about our dogs. Fear in training no longer apply. I cannot say enough about this book and it's author.

We had a beautiful but huge Shepherd who I couldn't ever walk with because she pulled so hard. We tried the collar literally one time for about 15 minutes...it was as if before we used the collar, she thought we wanted her to pull us along! She was completely walkable by any sized person after that. She wasn't injured at all and it changed her life. Changed my opinion of the collar forever.

We have a German Shepard, definitely a new breed for the family. Bought him 6months, i started training him by watching KZread. Yup, he makes a great watch dog & loves the family especially the children. Very needy, big baby, follows me all over the house, sheds a lot, picky eaters. Most of all, we love him and we know he does too. After im finished with school, ive thinking a lot of getting a Belgian Maliona. Yes, itll take a lot of time and patients. Which they have a lot of energy, therefore i need all of my life to be with.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. We don’t allow prongs where I’m from. And our trainer is r+, but I absolutely appreciate great trainers and different methods. Proof is in the pudding. Your dog isn’t displaying meta signals that show distress or discomfort. I think many people see aversive tools and condemn them. It’s easy when we have goofy but highly biddable labs, or Goldens or cavs with low prey drive. I’m always open to learning new things. And you’ve got a new subscriber ☺️

May I ask as to what kind of leash/lead you’re using and where can I get one? I’m training a 4 year old BM that has a stable training foundation. Walking and obedience not so good. Also, being this an adult dog, do I crate the pup between training sessions? My two dogs before this is what I did but they were puppies. Putting them in the crate and knocked out two birds with one stone by crate training. Thank you for the reply. Greatly appreciated

you have the leash already attached to the prong closure right ? this iOS 2.25mm ? with closure on end;? couldn't see how u closed so quickly it takes me a lot time to put this o because it has to be so tight; fittingmy BM is patient but then I add the leash; it has fallen off while on fast walks so kinda scary; its a Herm Springer brand

Great video!!! How do you get the dog to put its head/shoulder against your leg when in heel??? I saw that you had the prong collar facing so the leash would pull towards you. Is that it?

  • @AndyKrueger

Thanks! First I teach this position with food only over many months. The way I position my food hand will determine where the dog’s head is. Once Freddy understood this position, I then layered in my prong which he already understood leash pressure from. So these two techniques combined is what led to his Heel 🙏🏼

Hi Andy. What is the reason you raise your hand after you say the release marker? You say you want your dog to explode out of the heel position, but does this serve any particilar purpose? Not meant as critisism, asking cause im curious :)

  • @AndyKrueger

    @AndyKrueger

    2 жыл бұрын

Thank you 🙏🏼 Yes this could be possible to incorporate in an upcoming video. The place command is crucial for this. The pup/ dog has to be trained to stay on an elevated dog bed, on leash, for 30-60 min. minimum. Once they understand there is no getting off, they slowly but surely start to ‘relax’ on there more. This could take 2-3 months to achieve 🙌🏻
