I have a bigger long speaker doing this that I put behind the kidney pad of the alice frame, it tucks away nicely there and there's more space for a bigger speaker with some serious bass. However I also got the one you have and put it in the hatch as well as a solitary music speaker for the pack. That way the pack sounds are going through aux to the kidney pad speaker and any music I wanna play goes via Bluetooth to that littler one in the hatch.

Nice! Great idea 👍🏻 I thought about doing that with a bigger speaker behind the Alice frame but I figured there wasn’t enough room and that people would see it. But that’s awesome if you got it to work where it is hidden.

Used your video as a reference when opening mine up tonight. Will solder the connections when I get my iron , but did a dry run and it worked fine with the aux out. Also tested it with a small wireless (power) bluetooth transmitter and it worked as well! Might end up going that route with some external speakers behind the pack as the snack compartment is now filled with my talentcell cables and my keep alive switch.

Just set my pack up recently with speaker, power pack, and keep alive mod. At first I had space issues in the compartment (door wouldn't close easily). My suggestions for getting the speaker and wires to fit in the compartment: -Get the angled 90 degree mono speaker wire cable (solder it on. I never soldered before and I was able to do it...) -Get a veriticle angled male to female usb extension cable and connect to power pack cable -Add foam to prevent rattling from speaker With these tweaks, I was able to get everything to fit better (still tight though). Good luck!

I'm on the fence about weather I should wire my aux cable to the existing speaker wires or solder it to the spare ports on the pack's board as suggested on several forums. The audio in this video sounds crystal clear to me and I think wiring to the speaker leads seems safer than the risk of my clumsy ass damaging other components on the board with my soldering iron. I'm also curious how it sounds in that compartment with the door closed.
@ghostbusterspluscollector9624

Yeah the safer route is definitely just tying it to the stock speaker. I honestly don’t hear a decrease in sound quality and even having it in the compartment really doesn’t muffle it much. The only thing I found is that it vibrates the door a little bit, so I’m going to put some real thin foam on the inside to help that.
Thank you so much for sharing! I’ll probably do this to my pack!. One question, did you have to strip some of the wire casing to expose more of the contacts so you can tie it to the speaker?

Awesome! No there was just enough room to wrap the speaker wire around and tape it down, or solder it.

Hi mate awesome video. I wanted to see how it's all going since you have done this. I was planning on just removing the speaker and soldering the wires to the aux and just having the jbl only. Do you see any problems arising from that
@parajerry Жыл бұрын
I have the same speaker. Problem...the 1/8" connector makes it too large to fit in the compartment. I even got a 90 degree 1/8" jack. Going to have to cut a hole in the side of the compartment to make room for the connector sticking out of the side of the JBL. Sounds great though.

Yeah that’s what I had to do, worked out good though. Just have to be careful not to cut the screw strut that holds the motherboard on. 👍🏻

I wonder if there's a way to connect the volume to a speaker that also utilizes the volume on the pack. This, however, is an excellent beginner pack mod!
@ghostbusterspluscollector9624

Do you mean turning up and down the volume with the crank knob? It turns the volume on the Bluetooth speaker along with the stick speaker just the same 👍🏻

Is your positive terminal on the bottom? I’ve seen some folks do this but they’re putting the red wire on the + and the black wire on the - and it’s usually invented. The red (+) has been the top and black (-) on bottom.

What about disconnecting the stock speaker and removing it. Keeping the aux cord wired and then mounting it in place of the stock speaker. To charge it why not run a micro USB cable to the trap door and use that to charge it?
@ghostbusterspluscollector9624
Жыл бұрын
I thought about doing that but you would still need access to the speaker to turn it on and off and to raise and lower the volume. You would still need to get to the speaker itself to hit the buttons. But you could replace the stock speaker with the other speakers and hardwire an amp to run them. But using a Bluetooth speaker this was the way I found the best
