@JayLeeBeanz I wouldn’t say it’s an American thing, I never knew about him until rise of the guardians, either. But the US does have kind of an obsession with adapting Norse Mythology, so it seems to have been a less popular version of that.

@@josefanderson1764 ahh yeah, when I looked it up originally sites were saying he was based off a character from Norse Mythology, Jokul Frosti. But then later sources were saying the two characters were unrelated. You’re probably correct, my bad. 😅

it was a good movie but had issues with marketing and made wierd decision for the characters... Like giving Santa a Russian accent... the easter bunny having an australian accent wasn't as wierd because the actor is australian... But the russian accent on santa makes no sense whatsoever... like the somebody told baldwin to do a russian accent for a character who has no connection to russia...

Dude, I love Jack Frost. I always remember it as being goofy and weird, but also super emotional. A kid missing their deceased parent, the parent wanting to comfort their child, tell them everythings gonna be okay. Also; the bully sympathizing with the main character about not having a father, then helping out (and eventually becoming friends)? Thats grade-A storytelling, perfect for a holiday film.

Yea that movie has NO RIGHT being that much of a masterpiece. When I first watched it, I didnt expect much, just a fun kids movie. Well, yea it is a fun kids movie, but the story is also great, the animation is awesome, the characters are memorable, the villain is great, just everything about it is awesome.

I actually love Jack Frost. I just thought no one cared about it. Rise of the Guardians is so underrated, they rarely play that on TV. I even saw it in theaters when it came out. I absolutely adore Rise of the Guardians , it’s my comfort movie and I watch it all year round whenever I need something to cheer me up!

Amazing that Scott watched 5 different movies just to avoid watching the new Home Alone movie. And he was so right to make this call.

The transition from Jack Frost's face to yours as you talked about anybody being able to be Jack Frost was excellent editing, and then the hilarious ending scenes began.

i literally cried when the kid saw Jack Frost for the first time in Rise of the Guardians. What a masterpiece of a movie with a criminally underrated reputation

Rise of the Guardians is genuinely one of my favorite movies ever, like I was obsessed with the books when I was younger and love rewatching the movie now. It makes me so happy to see other people appreciating it too :]

Rankin Bass is so meaningful to me. Not only does it feel like Christmas, but they're so unique, and I actually love the choppy stop motion. Sure, they're often weird and bad (thinking about "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" with the Time Archipelago) but they're great. Edit: You can deny Rankin Bass all you want, but the Snow Miser and Heat Miser's songs are great

I'm crying at that plot twist! "Snow dad is better than no dad."

Being a mega Rankin Bass fan since forever, I’m so happy someone was talking about their Jack Frost specials!! Both movies you showed are some of my favorites! By the way, to answer your question on why Jack seemed friendlier in his solo special, I kind of have a theory as to why. I think chronologically his solo movie came first, and after being dumped by Eliseia, he grew a certain bitterness towards the world and a pessimistic view on love. With his attitude change, he developed an icy heart (like Winter Warlock in Santa Claus is Coming to Town) and his appearance changed as well to reflect it. At the end of Winter Wonderland, he learned to love again, his icy heart melted, and is seen completely reformed in Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July as one of Frosty’s friends.

I came expecting _Rise of the Guardians_ slander... My expectations have been exceeded, and I am thoroughly impressed. One of my favorite movies

It's an absolute crying shame that Scott has been consistently getting less views and subs, you are ligit the most original youtuber and create high-quality low-quality content, (which is the best kind)

The Frosty Special Jack and stop motion Jack are meant to be the same (it's confirmed in Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July where he helps save the day and is his stop motion version in his Frosty outfit) and if you look at it like that his stop motion version is a bit more interesting. Basically he used to be this really kind hearted winter spirit, but due to everything with Elisa he became a lot more bitter (especially if he sees someone basically taking credit for what he did). It's only when Frosty and Crystal are kind to him that he remembers how he used to be and tries to get back to that somewhat. His redemption comes full circle when he hears his pals Frosty and Crystal are in trouble and he wastes no time stopping by to help out. Also of note is how his solo special came out after the Frosty one (and his final appearance came out a bit later that same year) so they already had a personality for him and could have just kept the ball rolling with that, but choose to make him very different. In that sense he too is a perfect Jack Frost.

I watched Jack Frost with Michael Keaton last Christmas, and ended up crying my eyes out. It may be a silly premise, but it's actually a really good depiction of handling grief from losing a loved one. It's depicted in a silly way so children can digest it easier. It's actually quite the brilliant film, I just think people go into it expecting something they don't receive.

I freakin love Rise of the Guardians! I haven't seen it in a good while though. The few clips shown here ended up bringing back childhood memories and got me tearing up. Growing up as the outcast among my classmates, I heavily relate to Jack Frost's desire to being seen.

I remember getting the McDonald's card for Jack Frost after seeing it at the cinema and being like ridiculously happy and I used to carry it around until I got older and lost interest. Rise of the Guardians was the one movie my family downloaded on our iPad before we had things like "Netflix." It will always hold a special place in my heart, every long car ride or air plane flight, every trip to a family-member-I-don't-know-the-name-of's house or sibling fight.

I remember being a kid and finding Jack Frost on tv and I thought it was the michael keaton one but after a few Christmasy murders i realized it was the scary one

i did the same but never realised they were 2 different movies until now.. all my life i've just been terrified of everyone who said they'd loved it as a kid

I loved jack frost from Rise of the Guardians so much as a kid - still holds up today too, and my guinea pig is named after him 😌

I first saw the Guardians movie in an airplane cramped in coach, watching on a grainy 4” screen on the back of the seat in front of me, with no headphones. And even though I couldn’t see it quite well, and with zero audio… I was ENTHRALLED! I didn’t even get to see the whole thing because we landed before the end… but it left enough of an impact on me to hunt it down and watch it properly. It’s still one of my favourites.

When I heard “that EBOY” is was ready for a full read about how bad it was and I was ready to comment exactly why you’re wrong, if I had the confidence 😂

Rise of the Guardians was one of the only movies I watched when I was younger, along with Little and Big Monsters and Ratatouille. If you've watched the second one then you may or may not have thought it was a weird fever dream for years like I did.

Michael Keaton Jack Frost is a GREAT movie. It played on TV a lot when I was younger (I'm 32), and I always dropped everything to watch it. Perhaps it became lost amongst all the other christmas movies over time. Sad really.

I can feel the fellow rise of the guardians fans as I'm watching.

Happy that Rise of the Guardians is finally getting the hype it deserves

The Jack Frost & Frosty the Snowman story was always one of my favorite ones growing up ☃️ I love those older cartoons... Especially the original claymation Rudolph the Red nose Reindeer 🦌and yes the original Jack Frost ❄️ It's absolutely amazing to watch these movies today. I love the nostalgia 💙 Ahhhhh the good old days ❤❤❤

Okay, I know I'm sick and sleep deprived right now, but the fact that just you talking about rise of the guardians made med tear up, worries me a little.. ❄️

Guardians is sooooo good, my fav new age holiday movie

I love everything about this video, but the top 3 moments are your unwavering support for the amazing Spider-Man movies ✊, the unabashed love for the 1998 Jack Frost (it was one of our family's favorites to watch growing up), and Scott going all in on the Jack Frost banger that is "Have a Little Faith".

Rise of the guardians was literally my favorite movie as a kid and to see one of my favorite content creators love it makes me feel like not an outcast and so different

I feel weirdly seen by the discussion of Jack Frost from the Frosty the Snowman special. I had no idea how deeply ingrained that movie was in my subconscious until you played the clips and I could remember the exact delivery of every line. I know it was the first and only exposure I had to Jack Frost for a while.

I grew up with rise of the guardians and it's truly one of my favorite childhood movies the story is so sad yet incredibly amazing and entertaining, I was really nervous because I thought you're not gonna like the movie and then I'll have to rewatch the movie because even though I trust you I don't trust my memory, but I did enjoy the video thanks for your service, I really respect you ❤

Rise of the Guardians is a gem, I dont care what you say! I'd be sour too if I died and didn't even realize it because im still roaming the earth. Now that I'm not triggered anymore from the thumbnail; time to enjoy another Scott video!

The Michael Keaton Jack Frost is my first memory of going to a movie theater ever. One of my earliest memories period.

The 1979 Jack Frost is my favourite Rankin Bass Christmas movie. No one else ever watches that one, and it’s frequently forgotten about compared to Rudolph, Year Without a Santa Claus, etcetera

My best friend growing up was family friends with William Joyce, the author and executive producer of rise of the guardians. Like, I swam in his pool. This is so surreal.

I loved Jack Frost with Micheal Keaton as a kid. I watched that movie so much to the point where I think I remember most of the lines from that film lol. I feel it still holds up today for the most part

I went into this video hoping to see the Rise of The Guardians version. I remember watching it in theaters when I was younger and really loving it. I almost completely forgot about the movie until I saw this video though. I’d say it’s about time for a rewatch!
