Those who do not agree with Putin won't answer such dangerous questions to some random street interviewer. Only those who agree would gladly answer to reaffirm their loyalty to the leader. And the typical refusal rate is like 90% or more. That's quite a typical story for dictatorships. So, don't jump into conclusions.

А если всё это не соблюдено, то выборы (к которым, кстати, тоже есть множество вопросов) становятся просто удобной процедурой легитимации диктатора. @der_noa

@@fedorilitchev5092 the shift in narrative was to be expected with time imo. Most of what they said is just a more rigorous version of the beliefs they already had, one that trades in cautious statements for more offensive and direct blaming of other parties, more strongly reaffirming the beliefs they already had prior to this all. But now that you've said it and made me think about it more, I noticed you're actually definitely right - it has gotten worse because this shift, I believe, is an indicator of a critical phase in which certain narratives solidify and become part of the canon of the general public. In the beginning, most of these people were initially interpreting and dealing with their state's actions individually. But over time, they begin to spontaneously synchronize (kind of like how a crowd's applause is first just full of random frequencies but eventually the people's claps sync up). And now it's like these nutcases have found their natural frequency and resonate off of each other, more strongly every time. This is very powerful in terms of documentation of history and will have lasting effects on posterity, possibly ingraining this narrative for generations. Just like older generations and their old Soviet propaganda (or any other kind of propaganda for that matter, it's not like this is a Russia-exclusive phenomenon lol)

I knew he would attack Ukraine 100% because he needed it strtegically and resources. I see him clearly now as a Dictator and Criminal. But Putin hadn't controlled the oligarchs in the beginning, he was their creation. Most of the media belonged to them in the late 90s, so they had all the tools to create Eltsin's (which also served their interests) successor out of practically any person on earth to serve their interests. And they chose the mid ranked KGB agent whose life purpose was to carry out orders. So he was convenient for capitals of the oligarchy. But in the recent decade he slowly shifted to this state of paranoia and megalomania which led to such atrocities as: war with UIkraine, dismantling constitution, printing hundreds of repressive laws etc. on the fly. And these days you could say that Putin technically is in control of oligarchy and it is so only because now Putin is in control of all the media in Russia. It also would be an overstatement to call Putin a convenient politician for the huge capital in Russia today. But they don't have much choice they are bound by the blood and wealth. They serve nothing but the capital's interests. They believe nothing but money.

Even though they saw what life was like in the West, most of them denied the evidence of their own eyes. In their minds, everything in USSR was better than in the UK. There are plenty of Stalin monuments, and guess how many people Stalin killed, including Russians? Stalin was a fascist as well. Maybe begin cleaning up Russia from these fascist monuments first before invading other countries. But then we remember that Putin sees Stalin as his idol in terms of "leadership", which just means his greed for absolute power. Just ask yourself, are some street names really worth killing hundreds of thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives over? Putin escalated this, not Ukraine.

Regarding the claims about "Fascism", there are a few boxes that needs to be ticked in order to label a state as such (I leave it up to you guys to compare Ukraine and Russia. My own conclusion is that the Russian state comes way closer to meet these requirements, rather than Ukraine): Actual Definition: Fascism is a far-right authoritarian political ideology. It emphasizes strong centralized government led by a dictator. It promotes extreme nationalism and often includes elements of racism and xenophobia. Fascist regimes typically suppress opposition through censorship, propaganda, and violence. Economic policies under fascism can vary, but often involve state control of industry and corporatism. Original Definition (from Mussolini): Fascism originated in Italy under Benito Mussolini in the early 20th century. Mussolini described fascism as a merger of state and corporate power. It aimed to create a highly centralized, authoritarian state to restore national greatness. Mussolini's fascism emphasized militarism, nationalism, and the glorification of the state. It sought to suppress political dissent and establish a single-party dictatorship.

Anyway, what hurts the most is realizing to which extent EVEN young people are completely brain-washed - the procentage is probably not as upsetting as among adults... but still... being victims of the most merciless and ridiculous propaganda and blaming others for their propagandistic attitude would prove hilarious were it not as sad as it actually is...

How old were those young people in Donetsk in 2014? They had lived most of their lives under Russia's information war. Their view of events can only be distorted. Are they happy to be refugees in Russia, or is that a mistranslation?

By any chance were these interviews conducted after news spread that Navalny was killed for criticizing Putin?🤨 There is a witty saying in French about the usefulness of sending a message via harsh punishments: _Pour encourager les autres._ [To encourage the others.]

A more realistic picture of Russian society is as follows: - 15-20% are hardcore pro-Putin and pro-war; - 20-40% are against Putin and war; - the rest are more or less depoliticized. This picture may also be inaccurate, but it least it is based on polls, not like in this interview. Street interviews can be used only as an illustration and not as some kind of a measurement tool.

Россияне думают что навального убрали, чтобы нанести по Путину удар перед выборами. Это же очевидно. И убрал Навального тот, кто его и создал. Западный проект, который был направлен на разобщение людей внутри страны, но не имел никакой созидательной цели.
