The things he was posting about Pete never sat right with me. His divorce largely reflected on his own behavior and the things he did on social media after that only accomplished to hurt his relationship with his ex wife and children. Nothing funny about that. His actions with Adidas and Gap, on the other hand, feel like fair game to me. When the value of a product is generated by the artist, there is no reason a board room of executives should have a say over what is done with that value and where creative direction should point towards. The stealing of designs isn’t even the overarching issue. There is a conflict between the profit motive and artistic vision, and I personally think artistic vision should win out. Kanye is one of very few people who can speak up about this and not be financially ruined, so I at least support this part of his public rants.

It also, jarringly, gets lumped in with “artistic expression” and “thinking differently” because not one of these distant fanboys have to deal with the repercussions of an artist they love being awful.

Yeah honestly all this just screams mental instability to me, it kinda sucks that he’s dealing with it so publicly, but then you see people like Brittaney spears where they had her in a chokehold for like 13 years. So yeah this whole kanye stuff sucks, but there is no way to control him in a sort of humane way
