Has Billie Eilish Gone Off the Rails?

Ойын-сауық

There was once a time when we kept private information to ourselves, where it belonged. After reading a new article about Billie Eilish, I believe we need to return to that time now more than ever.

    It's simply for attention and to get approval from the world, which is not the world but a lot of people, but still. When any celebrity publicly shares anything private that shouldn't be shared, it is to seek attention, relevance and probably also approval because they all feel like they are the center of the world.

    I just got cuss out because I wrote a comment on a post about her saying "Remember when celebrities were talented enough that they didn’t have to use their sexuality to stay relevant?" and people cussed me out. It’s so funny that people come to defense of people they don’t even know 😂 I’ll admit I did that when I was a teenager but these were adults! But on another note, I think I speak for a few people when I say I’m so sick of hearing about people’s sexual preferences. Can’t we go back to when we kept things to ourselves. It’s that so hard?

    100% agree. I can’t stand it that in large sects of society that gender identity and sexuality are highlighted as almost the most important and interesting thing about people, to me I don’t care and I’m not sure why everyone else does. I’m sorry people were so terrible to you, especially being so young. People are quick to say, “who cares what people say on the internet, just ignore them”, but no matter what, people telling you that your thoughts are ridiculous in the meanest way possible is still hurtful. I 100% agree with your statement. This is a weird phase in society I hope everyone moves on soon cause it’s at a ridiculous level right now.

    I just watched that fame addiction series. Very serious addiction, not to mention some get carried away with other addictions on top of that. And Andre 3000 of Outkast talked about this guy who said it is unnatural for any one person to have THAT much admiration. Billie is just in this "no filter" phase that only she can regret later or not. I mean there were girls in school who had a picture of Madonna kissing Britney on their binders, so not much has changed.

    @@HugoStiglitz88honestly no. People want relatability, people like knowing their favorite celebrities think like them. As long as these celebrities aren’t promoting self harm or anything like that or doing illegal activities then it shouldn’t matter what they write and post about. It’s their page, and I’m all for free speech. If your argument is kids shouldn’t see it then I agree, however it’s the parents job to actually parent and not let their kids be raised by celebrities who’s job is to entertain, not be a parent figure. On the top of my head I can’t name how this will make society worse. Some people love when others overshare, I think it’s odd but I won’t police others or tell others what to do, if that would be possible then be prepared to have something you enjoy doing being took away. That’s a slippery slope. Instead of trying to accuse others of being or asking dumb questions, actually have a logical civil debate. The second you resort to insults, it shows you lose, and are unable to be mature and have little/ none emotional stability. In not sure what acting like a toddler will achieve, would you mind telling me how acting like a toddler will make anybody change their minds?

  • @Void5am

    @Void5am

    @Moonlight-rave if oversharing is not what kid will do then idk what is, but that's not the point is it ? We don't need to know how u masturbate ,what u watch and what u do especially from a celebrity who's whole teenager listens too , u think parents have the time to check everyday what a 15 18 years old teenager watches or listens too? U think even if they did , the teens don't have the iq enough to delete the history on their phones? Stop going off on parents when the topic is not about them I know a lot of people who parents are really great parents yet the teenagers are far from the what their parents are, we are all for free speech, but u need to know what ur talking about, when u are celebrity ur words are not just words from a random these words reach the entire world and this words will influence someone. Brett was on fire today. Made me chuckle when she made that smooth transition from advetising by saying "This offer won't last long. Like my patience for this (etc)" Few youtubers manage smooth transitions from advertisements or are able to talk fast while still articulating exactly what they want to get across to the viewer. Other youtubers I will usually fast forward, but Brett is so fast and concise the ads are less of a bother.

    The essence of her story is that she's spent time looking at herself in the mirror with love rather than judgment. Which would have been a lovely statement as is (I've struggled with body dysmorphia and the turning point was when I was able to actually look at myself), it didn't need to be sexualised like this. All it does is take away from the message, as if you can only be kind to yourself when it is a vessel for pleasure. Not only is it TMI but its also a potentially harmful message to younger people struggling with body dysmorphia.

I stood there just crying. Seeing that out of the corner of my eye while listening to your video and glancing up it was like a where's Waldo moment. Like another little sign that she knows how much I miss her and she's waiting for me. I'm crying g again. I'd love to have that painting or whatever it is if it's available to buy somewhere. Brett, I love the content that you are putting out, and one of the things I need to point out to you is that you are a master of the way you segue from topic to commercial back to topic. It always slays me. Well done!

    theres so many moving parts to these things. her music is dependant on her bro and the studios often need the artists to hit the airwaves on a level they cant maintain with just music

    I’m almost 50 years old. Most people never ever talked about our sexuality and sex lives especially with strangers. I have gay friends and family and it was I’m gay so we would know and that was it. We don’t need details or anything like that and we all got along fine and still loved each other.

    Just wait until I start music, not as a career but as a hobby as a passion and while there will be more "mainstream" topics like mental illness but also more stuff that just goes to the basics and probably even a few instrumentals inspired by Mozart and stuff

    What are you talking about? So many great albums were released just this year! Justice, Last Dinner Party, Gesaffelstein, Andrew Clinco's new project, ect just to name a few. You're right Hank Williams Jr isn't releasing anything but get outside of pop & country and there's some stellar music being made.
