Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life: Divorce Celia

Ойындар

harvestmoongamer.blogspot.com/
I took back my statement on the last video divorcing Nami. You could divorce Celia, but it's a little harder. Check out my blog (which will update within 24 hours) if you want to find out how! This was a surprise to me b/c I didn't think Jack could divorce her!

    @Manuel it's to make up with the slowass walk and time. 1 hour in the game is one minute (more if your game lag). One day is 24 minutes. On average you stayed up until 5-6pm. If there was 30 days a season, my child self would have gone insane.

    Man... I've really changed since then. Back when I used to play this game, I had such idealistic views.. thinking that I needed to marry the perfect woman. That I needed to have the perfect child who would take over the farm... I was in elementary school at the time when I played this game. I wanted to marry Celia because I thought that she was the ideal woman who would improve the farm with me. I now realize how wrong I was, and I learned what this game was about. There is no right way to live life, and there is no such thing as *perfect*. But now I understand that marrying someone is about being happy with one another, not about using each another for selfish gains. I married Nami when playing this game at the time. And I felt somewhat sad/mad when I saw that my child took interest in art instead of wanting to carry on my legacy of the farm. It's strange that I was unhappy at the time... because now when I look back, I realize how important individualism is. If I had a child now, I would allow my child to be anything that he/she would desire to be. I realized that no one is less of a person just because they have different goals and different interests. Those are the things that make them who they are. This game is about living and working on a farm. If it were real life... it wouldn't necessarily be all fun and games. None of us should have forced fates. But all of us have the will to create who we want to be. As the old man Takakura said, "If you don't like farm work, why stay here? Why not go find something you like better?" And he was right. When the game ended that way, I used to think that I had lost. I used to think that "game over" meant that I got a bad ending. Now I understand, there was no such thing... as a bad ending. There is simply closure.. to parts in your life.

    the funny thing is this "be happy" bullshit, is more idealistic then trying to reach for perfect. One only makes you a more fit member of society... while being "happy" creates America, trying to argue for drug use, not wanting to work, but still want to have a lavish life.

    Recently on nostalgia playathon and this game sticks the most to me. Dare I say this game is the best HM/SoS game, because of how realistic everything is, from the social to the farming (like how cows don’t produce milk forever, etc). They really need to bring this style of game back, realistic yet keeping it simple. It is very charming and unique. Feels like the newer HM/SoS and even other farm sims tend to be too “childish” but also very complex at the same time. I guess it depends on taste, but for me farm sim should be relaxing and with enough engagement to keep it entertaining.

When you talk to her while she's outside you can see her stand by some trees and comment on how wonderful they are, or how she liked the weird statues that everyone rejected. She was a pretty top-notch gal when she warmed up to you. Muffy did seem a little..ahem overused and Celia was kind of like the default girl you got so you didn't even have to try, too easy but good farmers wife.

    ***** I can confirm, I had just downloaded the ps2 emulator to play special edition, Lumina still looked exacty like a child and because she is kind of your sons teen love interest in the other versions it's slightly odd, even weirder as that when she gets to like 3-4 hearts she starts calling you "Big brother" and once she is proposed to she starts to need wife lessons because she's too young to know what she's doing, but as a wife she blossoms on the 1st year and she's a cutie, she also is one of the most loving wives ever ad you get a daughter from her which is also sweet.

    the divorce path could be a potential plot where mark (player character) realize he just work and live on his farm because he feels obligated as a son to fulfill his father's last wish or because he realize he's not satisfied with farm life. that pretty much means game over though for a harvest moon game.

    This game was my shit. Man I wish they would make a new beautiful one with 3d graphics and more of a complex system. Maybe have economics religion involved. Make you actually have to think. A morality system or something. A game like this could be made to be really cool.

  • @jacquelinebennett

    @jacquelinebennett

    I dunno about including religion because then it would seemed forced down the throats of those with other religions or no religion at all, economics are involved but are simple - I kinda wished there was a banking system though for cash so you can put some aside when earning (just give me a piggy bank in the corner really). Other than that, I agree I wish this was remastered or redone, they did another harvest moon game for the Nintendo Switch but its crap. The only ones I’ve played was: -A wonderful Life -Another wonderful Life (female character version of the game shown here) - Harvest Moon (PS2 game cannot remember the title off the top of my head though) But the others just seemed like crap to me and those were the only good ones, as for the new one, There was so much potential for a Nintendo Switch Port of this game though and they dropped the ball big time. Hopefully theres still a chance for a good one.

    Man, I only played FoMT, DS, ANB, and ToTT, and both Story of Seasons so I'm surprised that there's a version of Harvest Moon where we can actually cancel marriage (I wonder if I can still ask for marriage after cancelling it for the first time since in ANB and Story of Seasons we can) and also do separation.
