*earlier* Jack's Father: "It's settled then. My son Jack will marry your ward Celia in one year." Vesta: "I hope Celia likes him." Jack's Father: "Of course he will; my boy's good. Now I just have to walk home and tell my son." *walks 1/2 the way home, trips on a log, and dies*

You have to get to the end of the first year without getting Nami, Ciela, or Muffy to 4 hearts to unlock this event.

This cut scene is exclusive to Awl and can not be seen with AWLSE ... AWLSE only has a reverse proposal ...

i really like celia she's so cute and beautiful and so nice to all people ^_^ i am marrying her i have 4 hearts in her diary and i gave the blue feather to celia ^_^

There was a time I was playing that game and I wanted to marry Nami. I talked to her alot and gave her gifts but she never wanted to marry me. But then after the last day of winter Celia came up to me and said she loved me and then we got married. ^_^

You can only marry Lumina if you have the Special Edition, though.

I just thought of something. Why would they have a proposal item that is so "rare?" That means you have to go searching for a long time just to get married! I guess that explains why there are so little children in the Forget-Me-Not Valley.

what happens if you choose stay single? and i find an easy cheat to get them to marry you is to go to the other two and propose and they say you are jokeing do this every day for 5 days then propose to the one you want to marry works every time :P

I know this is 14 years late and you probably found the answer by now, but I might as well leave it for anyone who reads this and can either confirm or deny it - I believe you get a game over if you don't get married

It happens off-screen. In the game you propose to the girl you like (or the girl who likes you most proposes to you), and once you're both engaged the two of you go around the town telling the others the good news. Then the game cuts ahead a year or so, after your baby is born.

I haven't played any harvest moon games in a long time...it bites that if you want to stay single your game ends or there's not even any options for bi, lesbian, or gay people. That's why in my "fan" games, (if I ever stop being lazy and stuff and start working on them), I'll allow players more options. LOL

Good news from the future: there are now three games in the series, including a remake of this one, that allow you to marry characters of the same gender as your farmer!
