Hartwell's yeast, the cell cycle and cancer
In this video I discuss Dr. Hartwell's yeast research. Dr. Hartwell (and others) used yeast to discover the stages of the cell cycle, and the key genes and proteins that regulate it. These discoveries were not only crucial advancements in our understanding of cellular biology, they were also critical in understanding and treating cancer.
