►WE USE THIS SOUND RECORDER (AMAZON) - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
Stuff we use:
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/425k5rG
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/3WEuz0k
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv

That opening question & answer is profound for anyone who feels they need to be in film school before they ever give it a shot.

California is a very expensive state. I am not from their, I am from Florida but I don't see myself being a producer in my own state which is called the Sunshine state. I see myself being a producer in California having short term fiom insurance then moving back to Florida when it's done. You know what they say if you don't vision it, it want happen. That quote is so true. Not every state for a person to make a movie os for them. Just like every bank, college, and job is not for us. Sometimes we have to get out our comfort zones. Miami Florida is a place where they have movies made, but when I called my hometown film and the phone just always ring but no one never answers, but when I called California they answered and O got a feeling that that's the state for me to film my projects. I didn't get that same feeling calling my hometown film industry. I guess it's just not meant to be. I am not meant to be a producer in Florida. Yes I am born and raised in Florida but it's just not for me. So I will film my projects in California, I am kinda scared because I never been there but sometimes being scared can hold you back from accomplishing your goals. However I am going to start an LLC small home based business in Florida. A small business and I work two jobs so I can have enough money to go to California because California is very expensive than Florida. So I will be starting a cash stuffing business and a candle business, so I can be able to survive in California and pay my film crew while filming my movie since my own state of Florida didn't want me but that's okay California is way prettier than Florida anyway.

I'm from Los Angeles. Here's what you need to know to make your dream come true: You'll need $18,000 for rent--that'll get you a closet (~500 sq ft) for 6 months, if that. There are so many line item grocery taxes you'd be eating beans and rice in no time. Forget "fancy vegan." They have state tax--plan for that. Great walking culture, hafta say--everyone walks both for exercise and sometimes to go places in their local area. You'll of course be close to the "action," so that's a definite plus. There's also the beach. Can't forgst that! All told, you'd probably need $24,000 upfront to survive there till things got moving, including groceries, gas, car insurance, and utilities. It's a huge risk, but if you've got the cheddar, go make some grilled cheese!

Her little rant about incentivising films to have 50% women on the crew, and about achieving parity. I lost all respect for her, and turned it off. As a film director, I want my crew to be a free speech zone. I wanna be surrounded by like minded men, and those few cool chicks who can blend into that culture. And I would assume that female directors would likewise probably want to hire more of a female tilted cast. So I’ll go hiring men… and she can go and hire women… parity achieved.

Yup done with this garbage. The bigger problem here is that this is how women function. Men and women have different biological imperatives. Men create and invent and add value to others lives to procreate. Women evolved to extract resources from others and bend anything to their advantage. This is happening in every field in the west, not just entertainment. Women get into college or any industry and start complaining, changing they way things are done, taking, extracting resources, because they simply don't understand the real objective, turning them into "safe spaces". Women evolved to be solipsistic by default, if something isn't benefiting them they don't understand why it should exist. Men and women are almost completely different.

Sound thin skinned if you want a group of like minded men to be around all the time, exactly the same even.
