    Although this game arguably expands the Sino Japanese War in greater detail, I would be interested in seeing a game with just China and Japan. A 2-3 player Axis and Allies game. It might not take as much time because there are only 2-3 players. It would be interesting to see a game like that because Nationalists troops outnumbered Japanese troops 2 to 1, but they were not as effective or well armed as the Japanese troops so the attrition rate was 2 to 1 in favor of the Japanese. There would also be troops for the People's Liberation Army. By the end of the war, the PLA had 1.2 million troops and they have the special ability of turning Nationalists troops into PLA troops through political scheming of some sort. The game could have up to 3 possible winners. Either Japan wins by defeating the Communists and the Nationalists. Or the CCP and KMT defeat Japan first and then fight each other after that. Then we can see an outcome where the Nationalists actually win which they would have if the US had not held them back. Perhaps the Marshall Intervention in 1946 could be implemented some how. The US isn't a country in the game but has the ability to manipulate income and the economy of Nationalists held China making it difficult for them to win the war. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union is a backer of the CCP and also attempts to manipulate the CCP some how in order to create a divided China. It would be more like Risk in that all 3 players can attack each other. The KMT and CCP can fight each other (as they did sometimes) until Japan is defeated. However, the more the Chinese fight amongst themselves, the more consequences there are. Perhaps an IPC penalty because of the bad press involved with continuing a civil war while still fighting Japan. Perhaps you gain IPC's for taking the territory, but you get penalized for a certain amount also for fighting your own countrymen. Perhaps all of this might be too complicated for a board game, but the truth is that the KMT outnumbered the CCP by quite a bit (3 to 1) after Japan was defeated in the actual war, and only due to US intervention and then troops switching sides later on, did the CCP have the chance to take the whole thing.

    Great idea. I’d make a new game mode for that. Like make new rules and stuff. Us will send some units and soviets and when they civil war China can be a part of the Cold War. It doesn’t have to be real. Use us against soviet pieces. Decide who gets what in territory and ipc. Make a new capital for a side. More industrial complexes. Unify China against a common enemy

    Nicely Done man. Soooooooo long since I played A&A and have been looking for a way to refresh myself as well as teach my son and nephews. Quick question. On the IPC's, let say I start with 20 and lose 8 during my first turn. Now down to 12 going into my next turn. Do I collect 12 IPC (dollars, coins, whatever). And then going into my next turn I decide not to spend any. Do I collect another 12 (dollars,coins,etc)?? And somehow I sustain 12 IPC leading into my 3rd turn, assuming my last question is true, I now have 24+ IPC's but only 12 national IPC?

    Yes. Your territories grant you income every turn. This amount can increase or decrease based on whether you gain or lose territories. There is no requirement to spend what you've earned. Therefore, you can purchase units or save your money for later and add in any income that your territories generate each turn.

    Questions: Why is it impossible to attack with a carrier? And in general, the higher the attack number, the better change of hitting, right?

  • @legendsofhypixel2321

    @legendsofhypixel2321

    Жыл бұрын

    So a correction, you CAN attack with a carrier, it just has no value. In the rulebook it states that carriers "may be used to take hits on during combat." So while it has no attack values, meaning it cannot actually damage the enemy forces, you can bring a carrier in with your fleet to soak up hits if you want. And yes, the higher the attack number, the better chance of hitting. A Battleship, that hits at 4 (or less), has, numerically, a 66% chance of hitting, while, say, a Destroyer has only a 33% chance, given that it hits on a 2 (or less).

    Great video. Thank you. I have a few questions. 1. If Japan invades French Indo-China will that bring the allies into the war? 2. What if UK and or ANZAC declare war on Japan, in rounds 1 or 2, would that subsequently bring America into the war? 3. Can America ‘liberate’ the Dutch territories? Say UK takes Celebes but looses it to Japan. If America captures it, does Celebes revert back to UK control or is it now an American territory? Thanks again for your video.

    I'm going to try to answer your questions: 1. I do not believe that will but you will gain 2 IPC's for Fr. Indo China but lose out on the 10 IPC bonus (-8 for you) 2. No, USA will only be brought into conflict if Japan attacks UK/ANZAC first 3. Yes but only when at war and we play that liberating Borneo the IPC's goes back to Pacific UK but USA would keep the other 3 big money islands

    On the air raids you show defending fighters hit on a 2 or less, which is incorrect I think. I thought both attacking and defending planes all hit on a 1?

    Wait, so in the combat phase, only the defender uses the casualty zone? So if the battle last say 3 rounds or more with, only the defender gets one extra shot with each of his destroyed units? Lets just say the U.S was attacking with 6 tanks and the Japanese were defending with 6 tanks. - U.S Rolls two hits, so the Japanese player removed 2 tanks. - The Japanese players put the two tanks on the casualty strip and rolls six die (scoring 2 hits as well) and removes his two casualties from the game. -The US immediately removes it's two casualties from the game rather than putting them behind the casualty strip and rolls 4 dice for his 4 remaining tanks. -He Scores 3 hits and the Japanese places 3 tanks behind the Casualty zone, then rolls 4 dice, scoring 3 hits. -The U.S player removes 3 tanks from the game then rolls one die... It seems like the defender has a major advantage or does it basically even out because the attacker struck first?

    It evens things out. The Attacker goes first. The attacker and defender shoots at each other simultaneously. The Defender get's to fire with all his units this way.

    18:41 "A tank can even turn back around and blitz back into a territory it started from"...are you sure about that?? That's never been possible in any other A&A game. The rules clearly dictate that during the combat phase, all units must end their movement in hostile territories, otherwise they would be ending their movement in what should be the non-combat movement phase, and getting a free move. The only exception to this is when an attacking player chooses to retreat back to an adjacent friendly territory. This doesn't sound right to me.

    Doesn't the us get too overpowered with 30 extra IPCs for the whole war?

  • @legendsofhypixel2321

    Yes and no. It does give the US a massive bonus, but my playgroup has had games where Japan still wins even after activating the US on their first turn (J1). It does beg the question, should Japan activate the US on their first turn, but overall while it does give the Allies an advantage (as it historically should) it does not give them an overwhelming one and can be overcome.
