I very much enjoy all your tutorials, I even watch the ones for games I do not own or play. Being an A&A fan at heart, I would like to request video tutorials for A&A Europe(1999) and A&A Pacific(2001). These games are perhaps outpaced by later versions but classics in their own right. Thanks for a great channel, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the very useful tutorial. One question: If there are zombies in an area you control and have troops in, can you initiate combat against the zombies without moving new troops in from another territory?

Yes

I love this game, however the only thing I am fuzzy on rule wise is zombies in a friendly/your territories. Can you make a combat move into your own territory or an allies territory to attack the zombies, or is there nothing you can do about zombies in friendly/your territories? I can't seem to find any clarification on this.
@paulbrown1965 жыл бұрын
Great video! One thing that I was trying to get clarity on was whether attacking units taken as bite casualties still role their attack role against the defender? I would think so because of the addition of an attacker's casualty zone in this version, but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks!
@harsh-rules

Yes, I believe that is correct. The casualty line is meant to keep track of units for their last die roll before being removed from the game.

I have played the original game a lot. Played the zombies version 5 times (2 players). Germany crushed Russia every time. Russia is crushed before the allies can come and help. I suspect there balance problem with Germany just being too strong. I'll update this post after a few more games to see if the trend continues and if there is a easy balance solution.

@@ianhampton3568 It's has been awhile since I've played. My friend and I played around 10 more games. It is more balanced than I originally thought. I forgot some of the details but a key part is to fly British fighters to Russia. Some of the defensive moves my friend used by Russia seemed illogical at first but it slowed the German advance long enough to get more help to Russia. The game I have been playing lately is King of Tokyo. I don't have the patience or stamina for a 5 hour game anymore.😊

If there are no zombies in a territory on the first round of combat and takes hits on infantry they rolls a skull to defend is it ignored or is the hit infantry removed?
@harsh-rules

The skull side is ignored. It's only if there are zombies in the fight.

Are the zombie rules and mechanics optional? This looks like it has an overall better map and overall better in terms of quantity and quality components than the 1941 version. I see this for only slightly more then the 1941 version so I am thinking of getting this to play with friends but only focusing on the classic gameplay aspects. We are looking to get into Axis and Allies but don't want to break the bank.
@harsh-rules

I was thinking this too when I made the video. If I recall the territory layout is slightly different, but it's similar enough that I bet you could use the 1941 rules and play on this version. The zombie theme is light enough you probably wouldn't notice the difference. Also this game comes with currency and a real battle board. I think it can be done.

@@harsh-rules Yeah it seems like many releases of Axis & Allies in recent times have cut corners, even on some of the more expensive iterations. Despite this being a relatively budget iteration of the game and kind of a spin-off it seems like they really put a lot of bells and whistles in this edition.

Hi, one question: how can we liberate a zone where there are only zombies and not enemies?
I wonder why in almost every A&A game Italy doesn't exist
@jacksonmiller4992

Most of the games take place in a compact setting and/or a date of about 1941 or later, meaning Italy doesn't have enough importance to warrant its own economy, colour, miniatures, etc. It makes the game a bit cheaper, and most variants of the game dont even have enough space for a new faction. Europe and Pacific 1940 are amazing because of the expansion they provide for Italy, Australia, China and France.

So you're saying that a transport carrying 3 units is played wrong? No matter what the rules say, a transport only being able to carry 2 units is really weak and can extend a game for who knows many hours
